Child is right, his punches are about as hard as a small kids. I can't stand him or frankie edgers lack of finishes. They are both phenomenal at foot work and movement but boring as hell because 9 times out of 10 it will go to the judges. This makes them very unexciting and hard for me to get behind. I like fighters who come to finsh!
It's funny because halfway through the fight I was reminded of GSP/Shields (and I like both those fighters too). I was expecting Faber to try to go for broke by the 4th but he wasn't able to. Either way guess I'm just looking forward to seeing Machida, Jones, GSP, and Bader fight again (Sonnen too).Quote:

cruz, edgar, gsp....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I can sum up GSP's last billion fights. Lunging jab, superman punch, knee tap, pass to half guard...repeat...unless its vs a wrestler...jab, superman punch repeat
The lighter the weight class, less finishes you will see. You will never see the technical foot work and boxing of edgar in a 205+ weight class. Every class and fighter has their abilities and some maybe more fun to watch then others, but i do enjoy seeing people dodging punches and getting out of the way using footwork, although passive wrestling bores me to death, but maybe enjoyable to watch by people who train wrestling.
there are guys at heavier weights that have great footwork and head movement. The problem is guys who are content to point their way to victory ala gsp, edgar and cruz. Whether on the ground or standing, boring is boring. Technical or not. Shadow boxing is quite technical too, but I don't want to watch.

I don't see how you can call him boring or edgar at that. Yes it will more often than not go to the judges but those guys are constantly throwin, constantly landing and puttin ong a very technical bout. I can't stand watching machida. Those super counter punches bore the shit out of me. Granted he has good technique, just fucking engage!
yea, thats almost a perfect description, but he lacks the cardio. but the end of the fourth and all the 5th, he like dead tired allowing faber to land some pretty heavy hits. On a side note though, I hate when people say that they didnt like a fight because both fighters repected eachother. for great example the gsp sheilds fight was a great fight. both fighters stuck to their game plan, and gsp happen to come out on top, because he knew what he had to do. this is the pro level guys, its not just some people the promoters called to put a show together last sec. who come out singing for the fences in just an all out brawl. although sometime that may be more entertaining. Im actually surprised to see everyone talking so bad about the faber cruz fight saying nothing happened. There was a phenominal display of muay thai put on by cruz showing great foot work, and more then unusual movement. cruz's angles were amazing and to my surprise, faber had a rediculas time taking him down, which was very impressive. The main reason we don't get the finishes we'd like to see anymore, besides lighter weights simply not having the power, is when you get super fights, and fights so evenly matched, its hard to expect one fighter to dominate the other, or when they are both so concentrated, who will make the first mistake. just sayin is all lol
