If you take a look at Ryan's early matches he is fairly well versed in Rubber Guard and 'our system'. I think that he was going for the back as the RNC is a high percentage move for him (see his recent Wilson Reis match). Also as a seasoned competitor he knows that in competition taking the back gets points and puts the onus on the other guy to take chances to try to score or finish. Unfortunately the Truck isn't a recognized control position so no points would have been awarded. I totally get what you are saying and I would have lost my mind if he had pulled off that roll and worked for the twister!!
