Yeah a guy that i train with does that a lot when they defend the triangle by putting their arm around the outside. Kimuras are his go-to move
I have also went to an omo when the triangle wasn't working for me!!
there are kimuras armbars, inverted armbars americanas and more all from a triangle without having to give up the choke. It is very hard to defend your arms when one is isolated in a triangle. The triangle is a beautiful position.
yup it's been my go to move lately with big strong guys. It's a good way to keep them busy when they are trying to power out of a triangle.

Well, the guy i was rolling with is awesome at defending triangles and has about 30lbs advantage on me, so i took the open arm and got it. I could definitely see using the armbar variations while having the choke in though. (he's the guy in the camo shirt in my picture.)
This is a legit move, i got it the other day. Great when you really snatch the arm when they least expect it.
