Unique Scoring System Idea

First, let me say that this is not my own idea, I just read it online. It definitely needs some tweaking, but I like the approach a lot, and it is very different from the standard. A short quote from the post is below along with a link to the thread, which has more specifics on implementation.

"To "punish" someone for scoring doesn't work as well IMO. Punishing someone for getting knocked down by giving them an 8 doesn't jive well with me. How about we go in an opposite direction? By GIVING points we encourage activity. A lay and prayer, lazy guard player or inactive striker KNOWS he isn't accumulating points. A person who is busy all the time KNOWS he is accumulating points."

How about we just change the rules so that there is no time limit. Submission or knockout. That's it.
