Japanese neck tie
So I have been experimenting with the japanese necktie a lot, and its working very well for me, as I am a big fan of the darce also. Seen eddie talk about it in master the system .
So I am on both knees in side control, they have their underhook, i swim my arm through and set up my vice grip, and I apply the neck crank part of the japanese neck tie from here, and Ive been tapping everyone I train with out from there, even the brown belts i train with. Even though Im 50lbs lighter than most of them.
Does anyone else get the japanese neck tie from both knees? I havent even needed to fall on to my shoulder and hook the leg, I mean its almost like a reverse baseball choke neck crank.
I just found it really odd (but GREAT) that Ive been getting everyone from there...
anyone else found this?

Sounds like your just tapping them with "the Vice".

Hi, yes pretty much that is it. Im just kind of shocked that Im tapping so many higher level belts with that alone, Im only 150lbs brown belt. weird that its getting so many taps since it doesnt strike me as an actual 'submission' but more of a transition position to keep them under control until u can actually get to the darce or japanese necktie.
I almost feel like im cheating by not doing an actual submission but to be honest, its getting the job done and doesnt require any strength on my part, so just kind of thought it was odd, but also cool.

That sounds cool. You should post a video showing how you do it. I'm always looking for a sneaky greasy move!

You're a brown belt? Howcome your thing says Purple then?
This submission is just the vice grip, it won't really work against higher level guys unless you have a STUPIDLY strong vice. It worked for me for a while before I got my blue belt, but quickly realised you need to link it to other stuff.

if you aren't dropping to your shoulder you aren't doing the Japanese Neck Tie. If you feel more comfortable in that position, you may wanna consider putting some study time towards the Peruvian. Eventually, your training partners are gonna stop tapping to the vice grip. You need to be ready to switch off to something more reliable when that day comes. The Peruvian is a great choice (though, I think the Japanese is more effective).
