I usually jump right to the forums, but saw that photo with Renato on the screen at Define Defense, too.
The shot of Renato giving the "thumbs down" to 10th Planet is my shot, I'm proud to say...
10th Planet is the only martial arts place I've ever been to where you can get a funny shot. Training is such a serious thing for most people/places. I have a shot where Eddie's rolling with some guy and when he sees me shooting he starts making Paul Stanley style rock star expressions. It's pretty funny. Then, another time when I was shooting Eddie rolling he put his hand up as if to say "don't shoot this", at which point I put down my camera figuring, maybe he's getting his ass kicked and doesn't want it documented ;) Then I realized he was doing a Sean Penn/Lindsay Lohan "don't shoot me" thing as if I were a paparazzo. I'm so unaccustomed to anyone making a joke while they are actually rolling that it didn't even occur to me that Eddie might be joking at that moment.
Not sure why so many traditional and modern martial artists are afraid of a little humor...
i'm sure 10th planet is the only weed friendly school as well that makes things even more funQuote:
