How much would BJJ change (in mma) if these rules were allowed

Butting with the head
Eye gouging of any kind
Biting
Spitting at an opponent
Hair pulling
Fish hooking
Groin attacks of any kind
Putting a finger into any orifice or any cut or laceration of an opponent
Small joint manipulation
Striking downward using the point of the elbow
Striking to the spine or the back of the head
Kicking to the kidney with a heel
Throat strikes of any kind, including, without limitation, grabbing the trachea
Clawing, pinching or twisting the flesh
Grabbing the clavicle
Kicking the head of a grounded opponent
Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent
Stomping a grounded opponent
Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck

would BJJ be seriously rendered alot weaker, would BJJ be totally useless... i was having a discussion with a buddy of mine who is a blackbelt, and a couple of other buds, and we kind of had an argument, about if these rules were allowed in mma, what would the fate of BJJ, Jiujitsu in general happen...

what do you think would happen

maybe jeetkune do people would win more often

well for instance, i said BJJ would be weaken intensively..... there would still be some importance, but not alot

headbutting someone in there guard, biting there neck... so many more variables to think about

Actually, jiu jitsu as we see it today is a result of NHB, no holds barred fighting. The creature that is jiu jitsu today evolved from fights like these, and it was the best suited style for the job.

I'm an old geezer, and I've watched everything from Vale tudo matches, shoot matches, to Pride, and the dawn of the UFC. Believe me, jiu jitsu as a style would not weaken at all.
If anything, people could perhaps choose to clinch more because they one day want to have children. (Thank God it became a sport) :D

And headbutts work in the guard, but it might be hard to generate power. It seems easy to generate power and hit the stomach/solar plexus from inside the guard though. Only knockout I saw in Vale tudo that came from a headbutt from inside someones guard, was to the stomach, and the guy tapped!

Pretty cool. Then again, he survived in that guard because he knew jiu-jitsu, not because he was a great head-butter,lol.

Finger strikes and fishooks, eye pokes ect. are at the disposal of the man who controls the position.

Clear the neck, get to jiu claw sit up and pound the back of his head, or secure triangle and gouge his eyes! I think it would change the game significantly (Striking and Grappling) if you didn't have these rules, but wouldn't render jiu jitsu or grappling useless. It's situational, If you're playing with your buddies biting will be extremely effective. But if its life or death and adrenaline is high, pain compliance techniques are less effective.

i say there would be very little guard play considering you'd just get the nutride from hell probably?

It just means that u have all those options too. +jj. If you use sport jj in a fight with no rules.. Well that just makes no sense.

+1 The rules work both ways.

OK, so you can headbutt in the guard. Well, I can clinch in the guard and keep you from generating anything powerful. From that clinch I can just as easily bite, eye gouge, etc. Plus I can go to Mission Control or New York and not only can you now not headbutt at all, but I have a free hand to eye gouge, fish hook, or just tee off with punches or elbows and not care if they land on the back of the head. Frankly, I think adding those options would probably tighten up your defense and make your jitz that much tighter. Nobody would play double wrist control from the guard. Clinching and maintaining tight transitions would be even more important than they are right now.

Punching people in the balls when in the truck would be very effective.. ;)
