It's all in the hips
I like to threaten it, but I rarely finish the move. Just threaten, wait till they drop their weight back to stop the sweep, and then sweep them backward or sideways while they are off balance. Or, threaten, and then attack the shoulder while they pull back, because they often push with that arm to create space.
Minowaman had a pretty killer drop kick
I use the drop kick all the time!
It's just about getting the right reaction from your opponent, I like to push into his hips so that he pushes forward, the sweep is easy when you are right under your opponent.
If you can control the guy you can turn the sweep into a helicopter armbar or spin the guy and take his back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UebQkeXQGjE
i've used it fighting drunk college kids but I usually get leglocked trying that against a good guard player. wrestlers no problem
Cool! I'm glad you found the advice helpful.
