I'd like to get in them britches
Awesome. Nice simple breakdown of some possibilities from deep half too. I have had that problem with the opponent's posture being stronger than my Carni before, definitely want to try that sweep/sub.
very slick move. I love submissions off of transitions like that where your opponent thinks they are getting what they want then they fall right into the trap. And very good instruction man. you a smooth operator.
Really digging the options from the Carni. The transition from Deep Half is bonus. Can't get enough of your tech vids.
Beautiful! Great video and perfect breakdown!
Good stuff as always!
nice vid as usual, brandon! cant wait to hit that--the submission that is... :)
If Alberto is tappin early, it has to be tight. Slick.
Thank you sir
"It's not their underhook, it's my overhook..." Love that shit bro!!
Its awesome if that is the exact style of deep half they are playing. This issues with specific response to specific attack its that you are betting on them attacking you with specific positioning. There are a number of variations of deep half feet and arm positioning.
If they butterfly with the bottom foot and use double underhooks version of the deep half you just gave up a sweep and a pass. just something to ponder.
Good Stuff!!
Nice, thanks for another nice tech
Absolutely.
I'm also banking on him taking the bait on the underhook, which is a risk. After guys are hip to it, they may not fall for it anymore.
I feel like if I am trying to respond to a deep half guard with something as nuanced as this sequence, I should be sensitive enough to the particulars of the situation to know if the foot positioning of my opponent will allow for something like this. If he is elevating my foot with his butterfly hook, I should be able to feel that pretty early on in the position and react accordingly.
Different tools for different jobs.
I should have made mention of his foot positioning in the beginning of the video.
Thanks for responding, Herzog.
beautifull!!
What I was referring to In regards to arm positioning was that if someone one plays deep half with double unders instead of one under/home alone, it would completely bypass the entire carni.
I play alot of deep half and when i come out the back door I throw a underhook because I knee cut pass, I usto hang on the leg alot more but I just fly straight to side control. That's the reason "I" throw the underhook, Brandon feels me the underhook way before i throw it just on how sweeping too
break down = A++
thanks bro
I could listen to that voice forever, BMac...like sweet Baby Jesus Nectar...
Nice!!!!
The sweep is where it's at. You'll love it. Learn on someone with flexible shoulders, though. It's way tighter than you can imagine. The detail about keeping your knee tight is crucial.
Thanks for watching, Alex. Let me know if you have any successes or failures with the position.
Bmac, although I would love it if you'd let your country boy accent out a little more in these videos, the instruction is top notch :)
Conceding a sweep for an opportunity to submit? Porra! Position before submission!
Very nice!!!
Good Shit Brandon!
I'm not knocking it or anything but here's my question. Despite the hand or foot posish, if you transition before he settles in deep half, couldn't you just skip the carni? I mean once the hip hits the ground, couldn't you just grab him by the goozle? :-)
Yea this wouldn't work. I'd just stand up and punch you if you tried to play that sissy Jew jeetzoo stuff with me

really nice!
Bmac does it again!
Great discussion about the details of deep half. I like the idea of making someone pay for having a sloppy deep half. This keeps jiujitsu legit, keeps it ever evolving.
