Could it be true? He's at least able to sit cross legged. I thought knees get worse over years of jiujitsu, not better?
How is he even walking around? Im glad he seems to be ok but WTF?

Umm.. No.
Great.....Now a whole wave of people who are going to make me break their arms and tear their shoulders, acl's because Royler wouldn't tap. F that, I'm still on tappin early and training the next day, don't care how admirable destroying your body is.
Yeah. That's crazy talk. I can't believe people are saying and thinking that..
If we're talkin abu dhabi or something and I'm up on points then maybe. Conner Huen was the man when he didn't tap but how's he doing now? Casual, recreational bjj players though? Really? Dude, you know you got like 2 kids and a mortgage. Your ass better tap cause I'm not trying to pay your damn disability with my taxes.
At the very minimum, he got himself into the gym and sat cross legged on the floor. That alone impresses me.
Personally, i'll always be an early tapper

April fools joke
When I'm caught, deep. First I like to wave a finger to the ref and crowd, this let's them know I'm perfectly fine. Then I try my best to make the look of pure agony on my face look like a bored smirk. Then I let them obliterate my joint, reassuring everyone that that loud pop was nothing. Your now mangled limb will have a much greater range of motion to escape. Play it down the rest of the match. Mysteriously disappear from training for 3 months. Legit tech. If y'all would focus on the basics you would know this.
Lol, pretty much how I saw it up to the "Mysteriously disappear from training for 3 months" part.
I mean look at the pictures, he appears to be in Gracie Humaita SD, sitting cross-legged with a kid on his knee!
I not trying to be labeled a Royler dick-rider here but I have a hard time believing the pics are fake.
Zog, tell me whats what?
I saw another picture on reddit/r/bjj where he had the kid over him, elevating him with feet in kids hips and double wrist control. The kid could only weigh like 40 pounds though
"arielro88 The fact that u were able to handle all those submission attempts alone was inspiring ... I will refuse to tap out so easily now ... courageous performance !" A lovely quote from one of his followers. lol
My man crush is growing for you Bobby.
LMAO. Good PR. "Hey guys I showed up and trained. I'm fine." Plays with kid, takes group pic, calls it training. LOL.
OH geez. I hope that guy was joking. 10th is over here trying to evolve. A statement like that shows how they're setting it back.
I didn't notice any limping when he was walking off the Metamoris mats. Also, on the Gracie Breakdown, Rener and Ryron also said he was walking around perfectly fine the next day. Now, we see he's back to his regular training. Perhaps Eddie's vaporizer was ineffective?
True not everyone will tap to it, if he had got his foot onto his ankle then it would have been very interesting...but go get someone to put you in it....sore as fuck that will be your first thought....it really can blow your knee out just like a bicep slicer can blow your elbow out
Isn't that pic in San Diego - not Humaita..?
I was at metamoris and he was def limping on the mat while the crew was coming on stage and while Eddie was being interviewed. He did that hop limp thing when you're trying to shake it off and be cool.
That's no a current pic, it's an old pic..
That wasn't an insult by any means. It was actually a genuine question. I'd like to roll him for sure. I'm a fan.
Ok, Mr. Ray, are you in fact declaring that; Royler Gracie has posted a pre-metamoris 3 picture to instagram/twitter as part of a campaign of deception, the goal of which being to conceal the true extent of the injuries he may have sustained during the Gracie v Bravo match?
Because I was hoping someone would say that. :)
Well, Coach Herzog, I see you are browsing the thread. Can he really be training? Your word will settle it for me.
Hmm, something is not right here... Could it be an old pic that he just now posted?

You are underestimating the flexibility of some Jiu Jistukas.
Nope.
You have a million $ in your hand and someone says 'if you just let go you can have 1.1million$'.
I'm not letting go. If you do you will always dream about those 3 minutes you were a millionaire.
I knew he would walk on it even if he'd lost close to all the tendons in there.
Watch more Pride FC. :)
And who cares about the leg? The showing Eddie had was enough.
As for efficiency, if the round had continued I think a possible kamikaze would have made the situation a lot worse fro Royler.
I think he has soft tissue damage in that foot, quite possibly a torn or elongated ligament, but it's just speculation.
Gracies vs Sakuraba; Limbs popping out of their sockets, breaking, all that shit, Gracies never tap. (Only to chokes apparently)
I'm happy Eddie won, and I'm happy Royler is ok.
BTW; I hada ruined knee once, the anatomy of that knee.. The shin wanted to go one way, the knee the other. Sometimes when it went out while walking my friends started gagging.
A lot of knee injuries you can walk with them, but not run, and walking is probably not the smartest thing to do.
It's gonna be harder to run after a victim if you are defending and you jacked his knee. I know that much. It's like broken arms. You see plenty MMA fighters throw with broken hands or arms.
It's adrenaline and an insane tolerance for pain that enables them to do more with it than your average guy.
I'm saying its a possibility. watch the replay, you can see the bone coming up. you can also hear Eddie say it popped 7 times. You don't have a visable bone pop up, an your joint pop 7 times and you be ok. Yes I can believe he walked on it, yeah. But the next day that is gonna swell an be sooooo sore. I'm not saying he needs surgery, but he's not rolling.. No. Guys, he functions like all other humans. He may not tap.. But a mechanical injury is a mechanical injury. A slicer does way more than damage the muscle...

Another pic. Supposedly after match. Royler looks pretty dry????!!? Aren't all the paparazzi out in Cali? We need or I would like a actual picture or video seeing Royler leg damage. That is all.
Id be just as happy to see proof that the knee is healthy, either way it is intriguing.
Yeah, I'm leaning towards that myself.. I speculate that the leg is jacked.
Thing is, I don't know for certain, and I feel like speculating in the losers injuries online is petty.
So I don't wanna do that. I don't see the need to, Bravo already won that fight by demonstrating the beauty of 10th!
But people feel differently about things. That is how I feel anyway. I imagine if it was the other way around, and I found a thread with someone speculating in the injuries of my master, and I like to try to imagine what my reaction would be.
Eddie's been talking a lot about unity, non-elitist values, etc, and I try to think like that. But each man walks his own road, I can't influence that. Just add my perspective.
I dont see anything even slightly petty about it, Hoping to hear someone is injured is one thing but after seeing something that defies logic, how can you not be intrigued?
You seem to think there is a "need" for people to hear that Roylers knee is injured in order to justify claiming a complete victory. If eddies knee had gone through the same ordeal and people were wondering how he could be surfing today, I would consider that perfectly normal curiosity. Why would anyone have a negative reaction to that?
Maybe you;re trying to take a high road but you sound like a pretentious dick.
I feel so old right now. '-'
I'll sum it up fast; How I feel, or anyone else feels bout it, is subjective, the question itself is not petty.
I was merely playing around with other ways of viewing it. Bit of empathetical thinking and all that jazz. Thinking out loud.
No I'm not at all surprised at Royler walking around.
He could lose half his leg to a shark and still show up for class. They always do stuff like that. Never taps, plays it off afterwards.
Kinda silly, kinda awesome, very Gracie. They are a hard bunch! :')
And as I said before, knee injuries are funny.. the bad ones doesn't necessarily hurt that much. It all depends. Nature is a funny thing..!
Shit man, I'm not trying to be pretentious, I've jus had a really bad knee injury once in my life, and I've been watching the Gracies compete since 1994.. So I share my "knowledge."
Hardly makes me a pretentious dick? C'mon..
But I do make abstract art. '-' Okay then, I'm a pretentious dick, fine..
Surfboard also conveniently hiding the fact Royler is standing on one leg ;)
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Joachim Hoff again.
Are we using the rep system?
