i've never seen this thing being effective in high level grappling competition or in MMA, that's why I'm asking. Has anybody ever done any Rubber Guard in MMA or ADCC?

Rubber guard is only for people with freakish flexiblity. It can't be adjusted for people with limited flexibility or damaged joints.
