Marius............................................ ..IS THAT YOU HANNO?????????????????????????
every industry is built upon one of three things, credibility, workmanship, and price. Most people will pay and respect more things that have better workmanship and credibility, then if it was a cheap price. The same would be true in this situation, while Hanno may be a good teacher and is teaching a better form of bjj no-gi (workmanship, laid out by Eddie, Jean Jacques Machado, Marcello Garcia, and all that are inavative in bjj) he still loses crediablity in bjj by not telling the truth. In some cultures he would have no honor, and that would cause him to not be able to run a school. and while 10th planet is a diverse group with minute ties to the old way of performing bjj, the underlying concept of honor is important to all. If Eddie were to have allowed BQ, and Hanno to still be affiliated it would doubt upon the organization, and eventully destroy the crediability of system as a whole.
Chris Herzog - Thanks for what you do sir.
Online ranking is supposed to include competition footage. I can't find any for Hanno. Anybody??
Marius, stop deflecting.
It's a natural part of the student-instructor relationship for a student to look up to his teacher, especially if he's invested time or finances in him. But let's be very clear on this. It's not a 'white lie'. It's a business, and it's lying to customers. That makes it fraud, and is especially significant when your student demographic is mainly impressionable teenagers. And when I've given up my job, my life savings, my friends & family and most of my holidays to get my brown belt over the past 10 years I have a moral obligation to checkout someone who takes a shortcut by lying.
As for your attempt to distract the forum by putting me down (Gary continually says 10th planet is shit), I've never met you that I'm aware of. And I've just got off of our open mat session where I rolled with the best 10P in CT - he rolls here regularly and we shared failed omoplata ideas and options today. I am not going to get into a childish slanging match with you, my credibility is not in question, and there is much more that could be said about Hanno - trust me, this fake brown belt is just the tip of the iceberg.
But there's no point. The facts have been established. This thread is done.
Hey Gary if you read the thread properly, then you wil know that it was not marius that said you bad mouth 10th planet, but me. Marius mearly stated that he has to defend himself against insults regarding his 10th planet training, especially from bjj guys. As a matter fo interest this "best" 10p guy, where did he get his 10p training from, because i would also like to go there.
Mmmm, but, how do we know you're not just pouncing here, using this as an opportunity to grind your axe to facilitate some long standing grudge?
The issue is dead. No need for further accusations or slander. For you to put up the 'tip of the ice berg' argument, where most people would just let it be, it shows all too clearly that you're using this specifically as an opportunity to get a last stab in. That's really not needed.
Dude, there's really no need to register only to pile on. The issue is dead, let it rest.
Agreed. As I said, there's no need for anything more.
There is another guy in Durban claiming to be the official representative of 10th Planet in SA, Darryl Faught. Using the name, logos, on facebook, website the whole deal. Did some research on the guy and found on www.crossfit.com that he was using their name without consent and they were taking legal steps against him. Hope 10th Planet doesn't associated themselves with these kind of fraudsters who are taking the public for a ride with false credentials.......
