I like this. Kesa Gatame is a pain in the ass when you've got a larger guy on top of you. They can't threaten with much, but boy can they stall.

David, of course you are welcome anytime, we love visitors, don't get them up here very often. I can always call a "special training session" if you visit during a time when we aren't on the mat. My team is always asking for more BJJ time. Our gym is kinda off the map and nearly impossible to find. Make sure you PM me if your coming.
I train with a 190 monster wrestler that loves this position. If I rest for a second he rips an arm off. I fire off all the escape attemps in rapid sequence to force him to defend each one. He usually lands with his head up, I push it back and try to use my legs,he tucks his head forward, I push it to the floor, sometimes he defends but his hip comes off the floor slightly and I can slide my hip it to roll him backwrds like the second half of the first video, he defends and his head comes up again, and I start all over with the sequence. He at least can't attack very well and he might get sloppy. I would think a tall lanky fellow would give up some space somewhere more easily than a short, stocky, musclular wrestler.
you would be suprised its my coach/training partner we learn alot of the 10th planet stuff off each other but he was an all state wrestler so hes strong to rides super tight. sometimes if im lucky i can pimp arm his hip and push hard enough to squirm out to the side and we end up in dog fight i pulled to of the tuck rolls from there yesterday to land in side control. my problem i'm 270 and 5'11 no where near muscle bound lol i'm surprisingly flexible and quick for my size. i do know the rubber guards flow which is funny to see me try but my bread and butter is lockdown and side control. as of lately i been really drilling butterflys and darce chokes too i worked on being so defensive like a year so i'm decent at some subs but i dont attack like i should.
ha i love this spot have been trying to give it up for twister side>truck position but when all else fails run this side control give them a little space to sit up into you catch the leg over there head and figure 4 it and attack the arm on the other side....most people tap just from the figure 4 but that just may be cause there stuck by my balls lmao
that was in response to davids post

i feel stupid sometimes that i do some of these moves regularly and dont know the names of the moves. Also TREXing has changed my whole jj game :) Thank you coach zog. You as always are a wealth of information.
There is a side control reversal from there where you trap their underhook arm with yours on the same side, then use your other hand to push on his high shoulder, then hip into him (like you are shrimping in the wrong direction) and roll to top side control. It rarely ever works for me, but they will base back into you, and it opens a pretty big whole where there is no weight, where you can shrimp the proper way and get your knee in. At the very least, he will end up in regular side control, where you can work your game.
