Damn girl, your mount is death!!!
Eddie...Ill take the blame for that one...I had like 2-3 hours of video to try and splice up into a 4:35 second song...lol. The very last clip of the hip toss was against Judy Riley...shes one of the top females on the east coast (no-gi only too) and one who we have never seen lose. Gab was beating her when she was 13 in womens advanced at NAGA 6-0 and got caught in a bicept crush and tapped with 20 secs left. She fought her again a few months ago and was up 6-2 and got caught in a guilotine with 20 secs left...she turned blue (we were ready to go out to the mat and wake her up) but somehow fought to side control and von flue choked her way out of it for the 9-2 win...she grew up alot that day.
The NextGen we go to is out of Team Balance and a Rick McCauley school. Rob Mudrak and Rick are the head instructors. Lookin to get back to Kevins school (10th Planet Bear DE) soon when my sons football is over (literally 6-8 every day for 2 hours...sigh).
Awesome! When is your next comp?
Its lookin like shes gonna do Grapplers Quest in MD in 2 weeks and the Submission Only event in DE in early Nov. (you can only win by submission...thats it...even if the match goes 3 hours...which it has!!!)
I'm grooming my 6 and 9 year old daughters to be Jiu Jitsu stars. Well, we'll see where that goes. Just wondering if Gabby has ever gotten any serious injuries from training?
Nothing real bad...shes super flexible and young so I think that has helped her alot. Some sore elbows and her ankles are a little weak from getting caught in toe holds and such in training (current school is huge on the leg locks). The only one she really had to take time off from was when she fought Mellisa Bopp (she was only 12 and it was her first womens div.) who is a Tiger Schullman BJJ black belt. She got heel hooked real bad before she ever knew what a heel hook was and didnt tap right away...she was out for a month after that. Other than that shes been pretty lucky...wish I could sat the same for myself...as Im a walking surgeons dream :)
Damn, she got heel hooked when she was only 12... She's seems so much ahead of the curve. My daughters seems to show some promise. The older one (9 yrs old and really shy) has some decent skills already. The younger one (6 yrs and much more outgoing) seems to have more potential, but she seems really lazy and not as into it.
Thats one scary minor!
