Super cropping is a great way to control height and shape. Some strains whoever really want to grow just one top cola so you have to do it a little early to brush them out or just grow them Scog style. I always super crop. ive had to super crop a couple of times when the plants have stretched during flower, but normally i would top the plants at around 10 inches for 2 main colas, then flower at 18 inches, always got huge harvests.Quote:

Yields are usually measured in grams/watt (by growers, the seeds banks have little choice but to list per plant but they know full well it dosent mean much) so in order to achieve good yields in that sense you need to adequately fill your light footprint. Whether its better for you to do that with one monster bush or a dozen plants s.o.og. depends on a number of factors but generally tops are where its at and more plants with less veg time will give bigger yields and allow for more runs per year. I like plants with about five tops and 18-36 inches tall with 1000 watt light (if you're not doing s.o.g.)

That being said, I see many outdoor plants every year that are "accidentally super-cropped" in flowering and they seem to benefit from it non the less. Still wouldn't recommend it though.
