Sam...did they record it as a gift on the paperwork when posting mate? Nathan...that maybe an option! In theory I don't think I can be charged tax on a gift?
I think the tax is added on at our end by the post office, Nathan. The Post Office system is so fucked up that if there were a way around it in the past, they will have found a way to shut it down by now.
I ordered two T-shirts last week and there was £5.30 to pay on it which the Post Office adds another £8.00 to for handling costs! But if they lose something of yours, they are never to blame. License to print money.
yes mate, on the stickers on the front with all the postage details on you could clearly see gift.
Thing is, most Americans will post via USPS or whatever, then by the time it gets to England the people delivering it here want 'their piece' too. I have received 'gifts' from the USA via parcelforce, ups and royal mail and been hit with it every time. :)
Or hey, we occassionally have guys come over from out plants in Hudderfield and Daventry. Next time I hear of one of them coming, maybe I can order what you are wanting and send it back with them. Then just take the train up!
As far as the gift thing goes, I think it could possibly work if the item was sent in gift-wrap or something. Otherwise I don't think it will ever work 100%. :)
An itunes/download version of mastering the twister etc would be awesome, however it would be minus Eddies signature. Which IMO is one of the cool things about his books/dvd's. He signs them all I believe. :)
Customs is total bullshit.
I ordered shorts from Melee (with 10P patch) at around $72 per pair (which is too expensive to begin with IMO).
Two pair for me and two for a buddy. So it was around $288 plus shipping.
Then fucking customs got ahold of it. Bastards added another outragously whopping amount. My memory fails me now, but in total after tallying up all incurred costs, the shorts were over $110 per pair, which is total bullshit. I felt like a ball of slime, collecting $220 (or more) from my buddy for a couple pair of shorts that I initially thought would have cost around $140.
Haha, to add insult to injury, now the shorts I bought are too big because I am in much better shape. If anyone at the Detroit Seminar want's to swap a couple gently used Melee shorts sized 34, for shorts of equivanlent value (tongue in cheek), let me know and I will bring them. I am in the market for size 32.
Anyways, not I pretty much order exclusively through FighterWarehouse because they have free shipping and they will mark packages as promotional, which typically avoids extra charges.
