Having it all on paper is genius, thank you

I feel your pain on not wanting to upset the owner and such… but the owner hasn’t SEEN the problems has he? Either way, you still have responsibility’s as the instructor…
Basically, if you can’t fix him NOW, and I mean NOW, you MUST get rid of him somehow… Let me put it this way… If I was one of your students, I would possibly leave because the above was going on. I would not stand by and watch that as a STUDENT. I would fix it, get it fixed or leave. That sounds harsh, but would you not? How about if you were a student and your sister wanted to train there? Would you recommend it?
Basically, as I understand it, your gym is not a safe and friendly place to train while he is there. Your gym MUST be that, that's your job to make it so. Sorry to be harsh, but I’ve been in bad gyms before. It’s my humble opinion you MUST take action based on the things you’ve listed…
Best of luck brother.
I wish you the best of luck I'm sure you will have the support of your other clients hopefully the owner sees the gravity of the situation and changes his mind to support you as well.
The owner has to understand, this guy at best could run off some of your good students with his behavior. He apparently makes the females uncomfortable with his sexual harassment. He'll most likely hurt someone eventually, which is also bad for business. I'd say he's gotta go. Coming from a broken home and being young isn't an excuse to act like a douche and even if it were, your not in the business of rehabbing peoples shitty behavioral problems. It'd be one thing if he didn't know any better and tried to work on it, but he clearly is not.
Sad, but then again . . . fuck stupid people.
^obviously the go to response.^
#5 in your list make this pretty fucking obvious. You should have pulled that boy out by the ear and slapped him, dont even care if the woman was into it. Its nice you want o help the kid out, its not always the right choice unfortunately, best of luck, whatever you decide.
it seems like youve given him plenty of warnings, not doing anything now would lose you not only any respect the guy has for you but lower the amount the rest of the gym and outsiders have for you for not being able to control a problem student.
i dont think banning him forever is the only way to do it but i understand if thats how it goes down. in a classroom type situation i would kick him out for a while and bring him in and explain it. in this situation id say tell him that his behaviour is unacceptable in teh gyma nd until he is ready to enter the gym and give the gym, you and all the others there the respect they deserve then he sint welcome, give him a month ban or a 3 month ban and say that if he really wants to continue to train then he needs to clean up his act.
this way its not shutting the door in his face and theoretically pushing him towards the gangs, its punishing him for doing something wrong and showing him the path he needs to take if he wants to get back into what he like to do. ie jiu jitsu.
explaining it clearly and showing him that its not you wanting to do this, its his awful behaviour can make him not resent the gym and you. it also is giving him another chance albeit not in the way the gym owner probably meant and it may even help him.
good luck anyway. if hes a dick afterwards then jsut dont let hm come back
First off Ryan... you handled this like a Gentleman. However, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. You have listed 8 incidents 2-3 are annoying, but I wouldn't kick anyone out over... however the other 5 are non-forgivable... especially if people are getting threatened/hurt.
The BEST WAY to get your gym owner to stop playing the "Give him one more chance game" is simple. Tell the gym owner that this knucklehead is going to make him LOSE CUSTOMERS which will in essence LOSE HIM MONEY... I'm sure that this guy (or girl) has bills and I'm sure the gym has a lease to it. With this situation, you have to make it clear that by cutting this guy (who is probably paying $100+ a month) you will be potentially SAVING the gym $500 per month... douche bag teammates make people look elsewhere... these are facts.
LAST THING, if he is having a negative affect on your teaching... then that is affecting everyone. I'd say STAY CLASSY and CUT this fucker! Focus on the respectful students that want to learn!
