That's what I got from my search. Who knows where people are now.
Eddie doesn't "pick" locations per se. People who are interested, come to him for an affiliation. I am surprised there's not one yet, I am sure at one point it will happen.
BTW... Best of luck to your Professor, Miriam Cardoso, on her first Pro fight. The first time I ever wore a gi was at seminar she did in West Seattle last year. She is amazing. :)
Seattle is a great spot for 10p. It'll happen eventually :)
Thanks!! Her BJJ record is crazy and her passion for the art is obvious. But I'm very nervous for her. Her opponent is 4-5-0 and has lost by submission at least twice. That can't make her comfortable going up against a BJJ World Champion like Professor Cardoso.
Probably stupid for her white belt student to be nervous for her but eh. I'll feel better when she wins. :)
Yeah, this is Washington, the pot joke is there but I'm keeping it classy today. ;)
I know her opponent too... She has been at many tournies I was at. I went to the fight when she fought 10P purple (then blue) belt Kyra Batara in Portland. I was in Portland for a tourny and told Kyra I would go watch her fight.
I have never seen Professor Cardoso's stand up but she is an amazing women and I don't think she would even consider stepping into the cage unless she was ready. I am very excited for her! :)
I live in Bellingham now (used to be w 10P Portland) and would love to get together and train with some like minded 10P folks. I train at Shayne Simpson's up here. The BJJ program is run by a Gracie Barra black belt, he's old school from Ralph and Ceaser Gracie but is extremely open minded as well and is always welcoming other/new philosophies etc. For the past month the guy who runs the day classes has actually been having me take the last 30 min. of class to teach the truck. If you're ever in the area come in for a visit. We've also got 10P Coquitlam not too far north, haven't made it there yet but am dying to.
