Take glucosamine to help your joints stay healthy, but keep stretching. Hot yoga also helps a lot. :)
There are several foods that cause inflammation in the body and joints. Proper food combining is extremely important. Food combining has reduced significant pain and inflammation in my muscles and joints, which helps dramatically with injury prevention.
Www.greattastenopain.com is a good place to start.
Cheers brotha much appreciated :-)
I heard something about megadosing serrapeptase increasing flexibility. Don't know how true that is. I take small amounts for other reasons though.
Kelly Starrett's Mobility WOD page is a great source for moving better and being more flexible: http://www.mobilitywod.com
I think his site is pay now, but you can find hundreds of videos from him on Youtube that are free and absolutely useful.
This is the first in his series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XwK...E452146EC5D94D
His book, Becoming a Supple Leopard, is well regarded, but I haven't read it yet.
As far as supplements go, I've found that the more I stay hydrated, there better my flexibility is in general.
Yoga and lots of any stretching for the range of motion you're trying to increase....and lots of high quality Collagen protein and quality whey/vegan protein...if you want to increase your flexibility quickly do lots of yoga and ingest a high amount of supplements that keep your ligaments and connective tissues and muscles as healthy and rapidly healing as possible (collagen, hyaluronic acid, and other QUALITY proteins).
When you stretch you induce micro-tears in your muscle fibers etc. and you want those to heal as quickly as possible and create new range of motion but its even more important to keep your joints [pun "not" intended ;)] and connective tissues healthy with the supps. already mentioned...and your body should recover and get more limber, more quickly...theoretically...if you actually stretch and take those supplements....and stay well hydrated.
