Marcelo Garcia uses it A LOT... if that doesn't make it legit I'm not sure what does ;)
a) be aware what's coming when you turn away.
b) get on those shoulders
c) look for the triangle if they panic or to kick their chest (away)

I do a variation similar to the Marcelo Garcia one that Apperz posted. My only change is that I pummel my top arm through at the elbow of my partner, back of my hand facing my head, as I do the Granby. As I transition through the granby, I keep the hand at their elbow and turn it to push away the arm as my hips go through. That prevents the double under pass counter.
