Demian Maia's without thinking twice.
seems over an hour very good stuff , the 10th planet all stars is good as well , i have submission master from fujiwara is ok , sambo and catch is good , i really need to buy the mastering the rubber guard dvd thats probably next along with some other stuff from brennan , baret yoshida , marcello garcia , ihope to get alot more stuff
Hmm, my King of the Kimura lasts 51 minutes and my guillotine one only 36.. Better look for them again.
the demian maia dvds has helped my game alot especially when some1 has side control on me and i like the mike van arsdale and kevin jackson ones too but def the demian maia if you dont already have it for sure
i just got both demian maia sets on ebay for the price of one set plus free shipping. Im sure you can still find that auction up on there I remember seeing more than 1. It is a gi based instruction but most of it can be done with no gi. It will make your game better and maybe even help you reach your next belt promotion faster the sooner you apply his concepts to your game. I also have Marcelo Garcias series 3 set. Its very advanced stuff but once of have the basics down you can grasp what he shows. That set is pure no gi which is what I love most about it. I also recommend his x guard book it has both gi and no gi techs in it and will teach you highly effective yet stupid easy ways to take your opponents back and to sweep them.
and obviously any 10th planet dvd is worth a look...
idk if you can really find it anymore but i was watching jean jacques in instructionals and there pretty good
Thanks a lot for all of the replies guys!! I'm definitely going to take it all into consideration. I wish I could buy all of them. lol
As far as books go, I have a lot:
Jiu Jitsu Univeristy (awesome)
MTRB & MTT
Drill to Win by Galvao (I love this one! I love the in depth focus on all of the drilling, especially for top game, which is what
I am trying to improve
Grappling by Christian Braun (which is a great no gi fundamental book, I think. Some of the stuff is old school, but could still be
effective.)
Karo's Judo book is great for no gi takedowns and some interesting stuff from judo side control
BJJ Encyclopedia by Rigan is all very good, but much of the stuff is GI.
I'm for sure curious about the Deep half stuff and the ryan hall triangle one, but the other one's I'll keep in mind for sure!
Thanks again!
ps Cookie, you know I'm always down to drill homie
And I'm gonna check out the Damian Maia one for sure as well!
Great suggestions above!
My favorites:
10th Planet
50/50 (Ryan Hall)
Damian Mia
Add to your list:
Caesar Gracie
Robson Moura
Marcelo Garcia
Wilson Reis
Stephen Kesting
Gokor Chivichyan
Karo Parisian
Eric Paulson
These instructional caused exceptional improvement in my jiujitsu and I imagine they could do the same to yours! :D
Ryan Hall's DVD set on taking the back is a game-changer.
