what about the old "loook over there" to double leg take down?

Ari my brother-well said. I agree with quite a bit of what you wrote. As long as this extended family perseveres and helps one another, we will all only get better. Excellent attitude. Call it "Budo", Ohana, The Martial Way, or whatever-it all amounts to the same thing.
I was very active on the competition circuit last year until I got hurt really bad. On 2 occasions, my opponent and his coach knew EXACTLY what I was gonna do. I was approached later on my by opponent and he told me that he was watching my matches all week. So, I understand why "Red" would want his videos taken down...But leave them up. :)
Nice post Ari, agreed. Thanks Eddie and the rest of the niburu nation. The part about stopping it is sotrue. Those familiar with Kosei Inoue in judo, know he's an o uchi, uchi mata guy but no one could stop him for like a decade. If you put the reps in you just get that good at shit. Adaptation and expansion are huge parts of course. But everyone has bread and butter go to moves.
I have an interesting couple of stories to tell. Essentially the same comments from my Uncle, who was a champion Judoka MANY years ago, and Kru Phil Nurse. They essentially said: "all I use is one or two basic techniques in my matches. If my opponent counters one, I use the second, then the third, until I can catch them with number one". My Uncle used to tell me that he had only one real "money" throw, and if that got countered, he'd just go back and forth between that and his back up until he got the Ippon. Kru Phil essentially told me the same. If he's serious about ending a fight and not being flashy, it's straight punches and low kicks. If he wants to crush you, it's knees from the clinch. Basically, keep doing your money until you get shut down, then go to plan B.
Im at like 1/4 circle...
Cool Ari, Eddie is the the man but don't underestimate what you contribute too. ie. Right now money for me in mount is to finish with an americana in combination with a sambo leg lock I learned off your site what seems like forever ago ( a samura) . I think that there's a common spirit here that unites us (which is why we're drawn together and Eddie more than anyone enbodies that spirit). In the long run we'll discover how much more we'll accomplish as a team then we ever could on our own.
K, so it looks like everyone here is saying that I should be putting learning and putting reps into everything in the MTRG series, even "older" moves since they resurface with new environments. Ty guys. You know I've never been one to have "black belt pride" because I know that most traditional schools, ie *McDojo*, give out belts like happy meals, but I'd be proud as hell to someday earn a 10PJJ blue.
