gotta stretch out those hip flexors! Injuries are part of every sport.. and I don't think anyone ever goes through any of them without constant injuries. Just the nature of the game.. I would say fuck it compete anyways regardless of injury etc.. but I'm sure plenty of people disagree with me on that.. being crippled in the later years wouldn't be pleasant. But a pulled groin isn't terrible just uncomfortable.. i'm sure you can power through it or thats how mine have been. Just get a sharp pain here and there.

I just dislocated my finger last week... Good thing I took off my titanium ring before class :) I think injuries are just unavoidable. You just gotta minimize your chances when ever you can. And post injury to take care of it properly.

My neck has been fucked for three years, thats the nature of the beast. Hang in there and stay positive.

I think injuries every now and again are pretty much unavoidable with this sport. You can minimize them by keeping your body in good shape, eating healthy, stretching and getting enough exercise. Also you need to be smart about your injuries. I got a very bad herniated disc in my neck a couple years back. Looking back I realize that the injury was probably avoidable. I had been having off and on neck problems for awhile, but never took time off from training unless the pain got excruciating. I remember my neck bothering me pretty bad, but at the time I had gone down to LA and was within my first week or two of training at 10th Planet, so I was like "fuck it, I'm training no matter what." Well needless to say my neck went out on me during training, and I ended up not being able to train again for around six months. If I had just taken some time off when my neck first started hurting I'm sure I could have been at full strength again within a month. I guess what I am trying to get across is that when you get an injury that is likely to be aggravated with more training you are better off resting it until it heals, rather than trying to be a tough guy and missing much more time in the long run. I still train through injuries when i feel it is just a matter of dealing with the pain and I won't make it worse, but I always take time off to let the injury heal if I feel training could make it worse.

Two things that can make you more prone to injury are poor body alignment/posture and also being "under supplemented".
Athletes need to be on a solid multi vitamin and clean diet minimum.

I'm sorry to hear that brother man. I'll see you at that NAGA. Take care and work the rebel yoga.

I'm with ya man! I hurt my rib cartilage a few months ago.. was out for about 6 weeks, step back on the mat, caught in a really tight whizzard and ended up with a slight tear in my chest muscle .. heeled that up back on the mat hurt my elbow.. it's frustrating.
for me .. .it's slow an steady wins the race!

Shit...if I'm healthy for 3 straight months it's a frigging miracle. The rash of injuries really didn't start till I turned 30 but it's been down hill ever since. 2 torn ACLs, torn mcl, dislocate shoulder, sprained ankle, dislocated tailbone, torn bicept an now a broken pinkie toe. I keep on trucking though...it's part of the game.

Uh oh... this spider bite might be staph. Going to the doctor today. So freaking lame.

All injuries are caused by a lack of attention. Pushing too hard or being lazy.
Consider an injury as a wake up call from your body warning you to stay in the present moment.
Stretching can cause injuries too.
Injuries mean you're doing something/everything wrong.
