Referring to the 2nd video, of the NAGA fights: Am I the only one that feels bad for these other kids? Since when are neck cranks allowed for little kids? How is that safe? At 1:26, did you notice that BOTH other medalists are still rubbing BOTH of their sore necks and still crying? I don't blame the kid (who looks awesome and talented btw), and I'm not taking anything away from his amazing talents, but I'm confused that NAGA allows that. Besides, it's just that much longer before he works on his BJJ if he can just rely on a few nasty cranks. Everybody loses this way, even him.
I cant believe a blue belt doesn't know the difference between a neck crank and a arm triangle! The very last sub was probably a neck crank but im sure thats not what you were referring to since you noted the 1:26 mark and that was not till the very end and im sure since he set that up the way he set up the first two arm triangles it was unintentional.
I think he was talking about the "neck crank" at .11 seconds in and the crying at 1:26. I think that was a neck crank as well. Not too mention the kid is crying and holding her(?) neck. also at 9:31 was a headlock/neck crank. Its illegal in wrestling because its a crank.
come on Valdez? 11 sec was a head and arm choke I dont care if it hurt her neck it is what it is.
his head is next to her elbow. you believe he was utilizing an arm triangle with his head that high and that applied that quick?
how long did he hold it, like 3 seconds?
You can have neck pressure from lots of chokes i.e. darce, jnt that doesn't mean it was intentional. It was still an arm triangle which is legal. If he went knee on belly and she tapped and then got up holding her ribs would that be illegal as well? If he applied lockdown and she tapped would you say he applied an illegal leg lock? Pain is part of the game at any level.
Either way, he is a kid and I doubt anything illegal is intentional. But, NECK pain doesn't have to be a part of the game for 7 yr olds when someone can tell a kid how to correctly change the position.
Looking at the clip again, its not illegal but the original concept that this kid is winning by muscle fucking kids that aren't as developed as he is still stands. There are some nice techniques in that video, does that mean they slow mo him dropping kids on there head and finishing arm triangles by muscling through them?
And how about that clearly illegal neck crank at the end of the video? Those could be a result of no one reminding him about technique over muscling through submissions.
I don't believe that its okay to accept that type of pain as being apart of the game at that level. seven yrs old? Its illegal for a reason and that Safety.
