true shit? i'm unflexible as hell and have fat hips lol im super exited to start stretching properley i can't wait for that rebel yoga dvd!
I've recently started making a serious effort to improve my hip flexibility too. For years I only stretched out 2/3 times a week before each training session, but for the past month I've been stretching twice a day and can see some progress. I can get to the invisible collar without any problems, so my flexibility can't be that bad!
On a slightly different note, my neck is very flexible (immune to neck cranks, and I can roll back on my neck so that my knees touch my shoulder). Anyone consider a flexible neck an advantage to JJ?
Being able to roll up like that is also a lot of lower back flexibility and helps for being stacked.
Some people are born with flexible hips. I for example have never had to stretch to put my knees to the mat when in Cobbler's Pose (or what ever you want to call it) I could always put my feet to my butt and my knees to the mat with no effort. But most people aren't this way. You may be one of the lucky ones!
hmm i find myself to be pretty damn flexible but when i attempt the lotus stretch i have trouble putting the second leg thats under because my first leg is putting pressure on that hip. Any tips or is this just flexibility issue? I mean i can bring either legs to the very end of my hip(single/half lotus), i can reach my toes and literally put my hand behind them, get my feet pretty close to the groin and almost have them all the way to the floor, i can get my legs behind my head. I don't really know whats the problem.
