Just wondering since I know jack and shizznit about how a wrestling match is scored and won, say you get to your opponenet's back, then swim move into perfect spiderweb, would that be considered a winning pin? Also would landing in the truck position be considered a pin? Just curious....and if you can pin guys like that, enjoy =D.
* Win by fall: The object of the entire wrestling match is to attain victory by what is known as the fall. A fall, also known as a pin, occurs when one wrestler holds any part of both of his opponent's shoulders or both of his opponent's scapulae (shoulder blades) in continuous contact with the mat for two seconds at the high school level[42] and lower levels. The fall ends the match immediately, and the offensive wrestler who secured the fall is declared the winner. Falls (or pins) can be attained in many different ways. The most common way of securing the fall is through the various nelson holds, in particular, the half nelson. Other techniques used to secure falls are cradles, the headlock (head and arm), single or double armbars (bar arms), the leg Turk, the reverse body lock, the guillotine, the leg split (also known as the banana split or spread eagle), the spladle, the figure-4 to the head, the straight body scissors, and the double grapevine (also called the Saturday night ride).

Nice Conner! Im personally not a fan of wrestiling because of what it has become in todays mma (A good wrestler takes down a fighter and lays on him). I dont like that tactic, at all. Thats why i have so much respect for fighters like, Nick Diaz, Junior Dos Santos, Anderson Silva, Mirko Cro Cop, Alistar Overeem. I consider these guys real fighters! If it helps your game though, than keep doing it :) just please dont become the next jon fitch haha.
I legride my ass off on wrestling day. I thought Kiko had an awesome question and I didnt really understand from Jack's answer. If you swim a turtled opponent to spiderweb, is that a pin?
I've been doing more wrestling then Jiu Jitsu lately ... Mainly because we stopped having Jiu Jitsu at our MMA school ... Now it's just wrestling with some submissions. But it has seemed to have helped my Jiu Jitsu game.
The next generation of MMA Fighters are going to have to be at least Collegiate level to just survive in MMA. I also believe the wrestlers who do take downs and lay on their opponents will not survive in the next generation. Their going to have to be great at all aspects of the game. Including MMA guard work!!! Rubber Guard will be huge in 5 to 10 years in MMA.
I will NEVER be a guy that rides. But I have been ridin like a pony ride at the fair to many times by wrestlers, not to know I need to make it part of my game. I agree about the next generation..... I am one of those guys.
Think of it.... a high level wrestler with world class jiu jitsu skills. That will never ride, he will ground and pound or submit you....not hump your leg!!!! Add in some golden gloves level boxing and bone breaking leg power. Sounds dangerous doesn't it????
Thats the next generation, hopefully thats me !!!
