I've only rolled with a black belt once, and he must have tapped me every 30 seconds for 10 minutes straight. I had rolled all of his blues over the course of couple days and never gave up any taps, but I felt like a drummer that whole session. He even let me start in mount, on his back, wherever and it went the same: Slap five, bump fists, (???) tap. Slap five, bump fists, (???) tap. I can't imagine the honor of getting schooled by Eddie Himself. That blue belt = lucky, lucky dude!
Ya felt bad for him. Pure destruction.Quote:

LOL I"m late as hell, but LOL at the awkward hug between Henato and Ant Lopez.
I know that feel bro.
Can I wax drunk and philosophical for a sec? The conclusion that I've arrived at is this: MOTHERFUCKING REPS SON.
Look, inside my head, I'm a black belt. That's a faggy ass thing to say. But I been following this sport, both MMA and BJJ for over a decade. I've watched so many instructional videos. So many tourneys. Hit rewind and slo mo so many times. And yet, when I actually got on the mats, I was clueless son. All that head knowledge went straight out the window. Why? Because I lacked mat time. Because I lacked reps.
The thing is, master Eddie, and master Jean Jacques (in my head he's kinda like our master too) and my excellent coach Herzog and the assistant coaches from Scott, to Sarkis.....in a way, we "know" the same techniques.....but they have become intimate with those techniques. Forgive me if I sound like a crazy man. I'm just saying, I know how to do an omoplata. I know the gogo. I know armbars. I know stuff. But they know it better. Why? Reps. Hours upon hours of mat work. And that's the beauty of watching master eddie roll with blues...and even browns...and blacks for that matter. You get to see his experience. Hell, when I gas out at my school (which is often) I just sit and watch Coach Zog, Sarkis, Scott...and even a bunch of blues...work their magic...just to see that experience which translates into poetry in motion.
TL;DR I know. Pardon my epiphanies. Tequila has different effects on me.
wtf did I just write?
Haha beautiful drunken ramble
I used Shazam on something I heard on a 10th Planet vid. Look up "You Got Soul" by DJ Shahash (if Shazam worked right).
