I've always dreamt of fighting in KOC! Fuck getting in shape, I'm coming! :D
(I'm real good at tapping fast, or verbally submitting while covering up like a threathened porcupine)

There are some small shows around here that anyone can fight in. I know someone who had zero training what'd went in thinking that his cardio would be enough to wear the other guy down. Surprise surprise, KO in less than a minute.
He's a grown man, i assume. If he wants to make a dumb ass decision, let him. But it was nice of you to help either way. But I would've tried to convince him out of it. It's clearly a bad idea.
Although I do recall Rampage fighting in KOTC and his opponent withdrew...and they literally took a guy from the stands to fight Page. LOL. It didn't end well for that guy.
It happens everywhere. I see new faces at our gym (Florence BJJ) all the time. Usually a couple weeks out before our MMA shows. They train the two weeks before the fight and then hop their happy asses in the cage. It's their business. They won't be fighting for our school or representing our gym but if they want to test the waters to see what it's all about... whatever. Every fighter was 0-0 at some point. Hopefully these guys don't get hurt and at least learn there is more to MMA (cage fighting) than swelling up on a drunk dude at the club. And sometimes it takes a good ass whipping to do that.
Kudos to you for attempting to help them though. Hopefully you'll gain some new students and they will gain some experience and knowledge.
Well all I know is if those guys are fighting in a mma event its not king of the cage because the next king of the cage event is not until next weekend in Nevada.

I think u guys made the best of a tough situation (basically trying to help a classmate cram for an exam that they literally have barely paid attention in).
Probably liars. If not, it's their life. If they are that dumb, then it's not a big loss to the world if they get maimed. They couldn't even find the right gym; a couple more brain cells down isn't going to do much
Pain is a hell of a teacher.
this happens all the time...matchmaker needs to fill some slots on an ammy card and bam. no experience needed to take a beating. ive seen bouncers from the club that hosted the fights step in at the last minute and fight. this story is text book. but i do commend you for pulling them in and attempting to help them. most gyms would just have let them go not wanting to be affiliated with them in any way until after this blew over.
