Thanks!! Hey... is it me, or the movies from France are really long?
For the normal genres (action, comedy, thriller) it's around 120 minutes.
Drama goes over that +/- 135 minutes, but if you are stuck with a directors cut it can reach 180 minutes.
Unfortunally most director cuts aren't worth an extra 60 minutes, 20 minutes tops, not 60 minutes.

A Belgian Mockumentary (in French) and one of the best movies that came out of the South of Belgium (the French speaking part)
I can't recommend House of the Flying Daggers enough.
I find this scene beautiful, almost makes me cry.

Flashpoint with Donnie Yen
Jean de Florette
and, it should be followed up with
Manon des Sources.
Both are French films, I think the French are faggy (no offense to my cock sucking friends out there) but these movies are really good. I had to watch them for a French class in college and I found them extremely interesting. Most Americans would probably find them slow, horrible, and not worth the time. Check them out, let me know what you think.
I finally watched City of God... crazy shit.
some good Japanese cartoon ones are "Princess Mononoke""Spirited Away""My Neighbor Totor""Ghost in a shell"and "Ninja Scroll"
el mar adentro with javier bardem. fucking amazing
There is this French film called La Haine, or Hate. It's about hip-hop and hoodlums in Paris. It's shot in black and white. Very entertaining and the lead is played by the Arab actor who co-stared alongside Don Cheadle in the movie Traitor.
The Prophet. About a 19 year old kid in jail who becomes the boss. Shit is dope.
motorcycle diaries. one of my favs
Pan's Labyrinth.
L'appartement (1996) Directed by Gilles Mimouni. Starring Romane Bohringer, Vincent Cassel, Monica Bellucci.
Demands repeat viewings due to its nonlinear narrative. Mystery, romance, a French classic.
Watch "Elite Squad"!

Amazing Brazilian movie! Very powerful!
Old Boy- About a Korean man who is kidnapped and has experiments performed on him. He gets out many years later for revenge.
The Vanishing- A creepy movie about how intelligent serial killers/stalkers can be.
A Bittersweet life is an amazing movie from Korea. That and A Dirty Carnival. Both gangster movies but both in my top 5 of all time.
13 assassins, and THE MAN FROM NOWHERE
Also check out Bangkok Knockout
Have to agree with everyone who said "La Haine."
If you're looking for something charming and romantic, might I suggest "Goodbye Lenin." It deals with the German reunification after the fall of the Berlin Wall through the lens of one family's funny but heartwarming story.
el mar adentro with havier bardem... shit made me cry like a bitch.. incredible movie.
Two kiwi movies... Once were warriors and whale rider
