Eventually I would like to work for the federal government as an investigator with the FBI, AFT, DEA, etc but the sequester is screwing that up for me. If there is still a hiring freeze when I graduate, I will look into local law enforcement to gain experience until the federal government is hiring again. My undergrad was in Criminology, Law and Justice too.
Economics professor by day. Moon head by night :)
Chauncey: you with TransAmerica? dude that's my partner company. I'm a Senior Marketing Director with World Financial Group. Wow how cool is that??
surprisingly interesting thread.
Let's see, I currently work for Honda North America or Komyo to be exact. I drive an order picker around all day in a warehouse 6 football fields wide and pick any part with the Honda name on it. It might be a leather racing suit, a sub frame for a civic, a weed eater spark plug or a license plate bolt. Yes, it's tedious but it gives me plenty of time to do mind reps on the back widow lol. Anyways, I've been through a metric asston of jobs since I got out of the 82nd Airborne. I have issues with ptsd after a few sniper attacks and the general fuckery of the mind after tasting human brains splashed across your face. To be quite honest, you'd all be hard pressed to find another 10th Planet brother or any 37 year old man, who has been a butcher, baker, and a candle stick maker! If you do, let me know :-).

Sign language is a great language. My sister is deaf and its actually a pretty easy language to learn.
Hardest job Ive ever had.
I stay home with the kids. Wasted enough time in school to rack up some students loans before realizing school can't offer me anything I want to do. Working towards affiliation and hopefully within a few months my job will be to teach jiu jitsu as a moon head.
I am a Contract Specialist for the Air Force (Civilian). I buy shit for the government.
Before that I did 4 years as a B-1 Bomber aircraft mechanic (Active Duty Air Force), and 2 years as a mechanic on KC-135s (Civilian for the Air Force).
I spent the better part of my late teen's and early twenties work at the California Men's Colony State Prison. I worked the Mental Health Crisis Bed, dealing with the inmates who were a danger to themselves and others. I have to say, I hated every second of it haha. After some time I quit my job and sold my house, started traveling and became a jerk of all trades. Was driving trucks out in Salt Lake City for a good while before I landed back in California. Right now I'm a Body Modification artist, performer in an Abstract Cabaret based out of Spain, booking for a small venue, competitive breakdancer, and musician in a terrible band and I love it! I will be relocating to the east coast in the next year to attend med. school. I will be studying to become a Plastic Surgeon... Basically my life in short =)
Loving this thread, by the way. So many different paths in life, I like that we can bond over something this beautiful.

I am an engineering associate for Cummins. I support application engineering and machine integration. And I'm mostly done with my Master's degree in instrumentation and control systems. I should be starting my major project in the fall. In the evenings, I moonlight as a college professor teching in the electronics department. And I also front a local band. Then there's the rentals properties I own with my parents. Once in a while, I even manage to slip in a little sleep. When I'm not doing any of that, you can find me at MMA Fit Club.
At 41, I haven't been a butcher, baker, and candlestick maker, but I did spend 20 years as a chef and that incorporated a lot of butchering and baking, but not a whole lot of candlestick making.
What a great thread. Seems we have some straight up bad asses on AND off the mat!
Electrician. Leave it.
Professional sham artist, I get paid for going to school under post 9/11 gi bill. I got out of the service 2 years ago with a honorable discharge. I was enthusiastic about getting a sweet contract or DOD job but there isn't a lot of skills you learn from being a infantryman that translate into the civilian world. Except shooting people that I can do. For the mean time I am studying Computer Science and moving to Houston, Tx to get a better education.
You know you could have used the Montgomery G.I. Bill and saved the Post 9/11 for later right? It comes out to a little more than 5 years.
I don't think you get both. I have/had the MGIB, and would have had to transfer it to the Post 9/11. I didn't do it because even though I served 4 years, only 2 and a half were post 9/11 (1999-2003), so it would have been prorated at like 80 percent. Plus I had already used most of it getting my Bachelor's. If you started serving after 9/11, I am pretty sure you "only" get the post 9/11. If you had started serving before then you have the option to transfer it.
My husband did not opt in for the MGIB, but since he retired in 2010 (after 21 years of Active duty Air Force) he gets the Post 9/11. He is finishing up his Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (dollar, dollar bills!)
But maybe things have changed since I used my MGIB. I have been done with college for awhile now
Actually, you can. It's what I have to do in order to finish my degree. I have to drop both my minors in order to do it, but it can be done. It's a one year extension. If I try to use the Post-9/11 now, I'd only get 6 months because that's all I have left on my Montgomery G.I. Bill. I have to finish the Montgomery first before I can switch to the Post 9/11. This was changed about 3 years ago, I think. They (being the guys running the G.I. Bill) didn't do a very good job explaining the changes. A friend of mine was told that he would get an additional 5 years of Post 9/11 if he switched over. He was surprised when it turned out that it ended when his original Montgomery did. That's how we found out that you have to use your Montgomery first THEN apply for Post 9/11. And you ONLY get an extra year. It's why I have to drop my minors. My school has a cap on how many hours you can take per semester.
The only thing I ever heard was if I used all my MGIB, I could get the original $1800 i paid into it (I did the $600 add-on)back. It was a cluster when the new one came out - -the info did not flow out to people very well.
Mine expires this Oct, I will have been off active duty for 10 years. (Fuck, i am getting old). I don't have the ambition to get my Masters right now so I will be out what is left on it. I thing there is about 3 or 4 months of full time on it. I have joked about going to cosmetology school just for fun.
Having been a convicted felon for computer hacking and phone phreaking when I was younger (23 years ago, old school!) I now get paid to keep the bad guys out! I've had the pleasure of working with various three letter organizations as well as some of the largest phone and mobile carriers in the world. It's super fun shit and now I get to do it legally! :D
When I'm not at work, or traveling for work, or being a husband, or being a dad, I'm teaching people 10th Planet techniques just for fun. Anyone who knows me knows I'm passionate about this system and truly enjoy sharing the knowledge with everyone who is interested. :)
When I'm not doing any of the above, I'm writing and remixing some crazy electro dubstep rock hip hop mash-up music in Ableton Live and Pro Tools.
That's what I heard too when the Post 9/11 came out. It's still a cluster. A friend of mine is short two or three semesters from getting his BS in electrical engineering. He's no longer eligible for it as of the end of this month. It's one of those things you have to dig for on the website and even then it's been contradictory. I had to make several calls in order to verify it.
Police Officer
I slang T-Mobile. Been there for ten years and love my job for the most part.
