This...this right here
Atlanta!!!!
10th planet Bali sound so good
In all serious, does anyone know how living in Utah is like? Salt Lake City? Provo? Park City area? Pros and cons please. Doesn't Utah have some weird laws or is very conservative? I literally have no clue and am completely ignorant? Im pretty outdoorsy so Utah would be sick. In a perfect world I would choose Boulder, Colorado area but Drew beat me too it!
Damn misdemeanor for possession of less than an oz and/or paraphernalia? The Mormon seminary in public schools is creepy too....
Come to Spartanburg SC. Its not too far from Raleigh NC, so you could visit your family pretty easily. The jiu jitsu community is pretty strong here, but there is no 10P. I'm working to change that though. I want to get a hotbox going, hopefully by the end of the year
dunedin new zealand is always available. my nearest moon at the moment is 1443 miles away and i make that around once or twice a year :D, nearest jiu jitsu mats are 10 metres away in my bedroom though so things even out. :D
Birmingham, AL!!! Driving 105 miles one way to Decatur isn't working out so well for me :( We have a Gracie Barra here but w/ Decatur covering the north end of the state & Gulf Shores on the south, makes sense for a centralized location.
Somebody should put one in San Diego. Just sayin'. I know there's one in Vista but I think one is needed more east.
I live in Salt Lake and have a no-gi school here. I can tell you all about Utah. I'm not mormon.
The place is awesome. The outdoor activities are awesome. The conservative mormon culture will be damn near unbearable to you if places like Boulder are attractive to you.
Feel free to fire away with any questions.
Yea Utah would be awesome if it was less conservative. How is Salt Lake compared to the rest of the state? Do you smoke the sacred herb? Not that I really give a shit but theres less alcohol in beer there? How douchey can the Mormons be or do they primarily stick to themselves? I love to snowboard so Utah would be perfect. Im hoping with it being surrounded by some increasingly libertarian-minded states it will loosen up a little over the years? I feel like it could be another Colorado. How do you like it? Biggest down side?
why is there no 10p in vegas yet I mean come on guys its like the mma capitol in the U.S!! im dying to train 10th planet legit but im gonna have to move to LA
The Mormon individual stocks to themselves and are actually quite good people. The church as a whole however, will influence your everyday life through their strangle hold on Utah legislation. You'll be forced to have situations such as nobody on the board of alcohol actually ever having drank.
I am not entirely sure there is a need for more schools there, the culture just isn't that big.
Madison has no legit schools and TONS of students/people
lol. you were just dying to go off on those mormons weren't you?
Boston!!!!!
what about austin, san antonio, or houston? growing city so many people between the three, the closet 10pjj gym sherman, elpaso, or barncats place....
Manchester, UK? (I'm being shellfish)
sacramento or folsom. mms is huge up there right now it would be nice to have the best no gi school in the area
Quadcities, Illinois! We have a traditional club around, but nothing without the gi!
Coach, I'm assuming FL because of your hip and what not?
I know NYC has an abundance of JJ schools already, but was bummed when I was recently considering moving to NYC and thought that I'd have to train at Gracie Barra or something.
Do raleigh please!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dallas, Texas :D
South West UK. Lots of 10th Planet Gyms in the UK - Midlands, London, up North, Scotland, Ireland, etc... but we are lacking one in Bristol (one of our largest cities with a population close to half a million people).
Zog just went full Viking on your ass
Miami for sure. Coach Zog says he'll be more up north in Tampa leaving Miami wide open to spread the 10P goodness. There's already an active group of 10p players here who were in the 10P Miami hotbox, 10P Ft. Lauderdale hotbox, and people in gyms who are 10P lovers on the down low within their respective schools who I've trained/train with. You'll get students here.
Also for quality of life Miami has a lot to offer if you like tropical weather, beaches, and if you're never tried Cuban or Columbian food, you're in for a treat. I love snow myself since skiing and snowboarding are awesome, but don't like shoveling it during the winter when it snows while I slept just before work. In the end you'll have to decide where the best quality of life and success for your business will be for you. I'm just saying that Miami/South Florida is prepped and ready to get 10P'd. *how do you like that verb?*
I'll tell you where. I just travelled the country. South Miami. Brooklyn. Toronto. Those are the three locations that need a 10th Planet. If I wasn't Moving to Cali, I would open one in Toronto. If I chose New York over Cali, I would have started on in Brooklyn. And I'm in South Miami right now talking to investors, but I decided I want to compete more on the west coast first before I get tied down with a school. Honestly, I prefer a simple lifestyle over these big cities. They come with a stress that's not worth the money to me. If I had it my way I would open one in Costa Rica or Panama. Somewhere where I can just help the community, live on the beach and stay away from the pace of life these locations demand. But if I decide to go the business way instead of strictly the love of spreading the system, I would choose a big city like the three I mentioned. I think one day I would like to have one in Toronto anyway. Keep my Canadian citizenship.
DC would be cool.
