Yeah I've watched it a few times now lol

Yeah I agree, I'm not sure the yellow card is the best idea because of how it could be abused. I would like to see the scoring criteria more clearly defined and less vague. Things like octagon control, dominate position, and aggression are to vague. Like when a fighter is in another fighters guard, usually the top is a dominate position but we've all seen fights where the guy on bottom is either the more effective striker or throwing so many subs at the guy on top that it looks like he's drowning, yet the guy on top gets points for dominate position. I just wish there were no decisions lol
Can a guy seriously be accused of running when he lands more strikes than the other guy?
Like it or not MMA is a sport. I was much bigger fan of Diaz than I was Condit, but Condit's game plan was perfect for fighting Diaz and it showed. I actually had it 4-1 for Condit.
Really interesting fight. Not as enjoyable as I thought it would be, but nothing but respect for Condit and how he went about getting the win.
Werdum's striking was also unbelievable. Impressed
QFT!
With the current rule system you can't blame Condit. He took on a fighter that destroys everyone, and picked him apart with a great game-plan. If one wants to see a different type of game-plan dominate in the UFC, then they should implement Pride rules, (Which won't happen because of the athletic commission)
Accumulation of damage and effort to finish was key components of the Pride rules, and it shoved. It mimicked self defence, because you have to finish your opponent as fast as possible.
I think it was an exciting fight by the way. From a technical and strategic standpoint.
I was rooting for Diaz, but I had Condit three rounds and Diaz the first two. All 10-9 rounds-
Initially, I was upset about the outcome. Rewatching it now I can see how they gave it to Condit being the more diverse striker. I still don't agree about the decision, but that's the formula to beat Diaz. Sadly, it's not the most spectacular style or strategy. I say let them rematch while GSP is recovering!
Game plans are boring sometimes; I'd like to see more fight plans.
Nick diaz vs koscheck lets do it.
That idea has been thrown out there but I dunno if I want to see that fight again. Id rather see Diaz/Kos than see a rematch
Just to get away from the fatty weight classes for a tic, Dustin Poirer looked pretty good against new comer Max Holloway. Holloway actually looked decent on the feet but once Poirer got the Matt Hughes slam it was all done for.

I watched to see a battle. and well it went all 5. No one thought fighters could keep up with Diaz pace. Well Condit did and won the "judges decision." Hats off to him.
And Diaz complaining about money again? Would he complain if he won? bad form even for a good fighter.
I just got done watching the fight again and Nick beat him worse than I thought!
Nick landed more strikes to the body and head. The difference was in the leg kicks, Nick is southpaw and Condit is a righty it was easy to land those front leg leg kicks problem is they don't carry the same weight as a back leg leg kick as evidenced by Nick being unfazed by them and continuing to move forward for all 5 rounds. The only time Condit did use his back leg he was contacting with the bottom of his foot which is like slapping somebody on the shoulder but yet those are calculated as kicks. If it was a game of tag then he won. I had Carlos in the 4th every other round I had for Diaz. Diaz landed more significant strikes.
The Diaz brothers are some of my favorite fighters but lately Nick has been acting like a bitch. I haven't even seen the fight but when I heard he pulled a Lesnar after losing I gotta say im happy he lost because with that mentality he doesn't deserve a title shot. GSP would smash him anyway.
agreed completly, Nick landed more significant strikes, i can't believe how easy it is to con mma fans and judges, just by throwing a lot but not really fighting, this is the last time i spend 60.00 for a ufc for a long while, mma is becomming boxing with takedowns,Condit should not brag or be proud of this so called win, it was pathetic, turnning your back and running, that's just some Kerr Dog shit, can't wait until Gsp kicks Condits ass if he can catch him
I tried but im at work. And im not disputing anyones argument, im just saying quiting is a worse look than guys "allegedly" running from you in a fight/sport/game and manipulating the system to win. I plan on watching it asap.
so you except him to go out like a "man" and lose to nick diaz by fighting his fight? condit had the perfect gameplan and thats the exact style you gotta use to frustrate and beat nick. cyborg did the same thing only he gassed. also, based on fightmetric condit landed significant strikes in all rounds except round 2. in total he landed 151 sig strikes vs 105 by diaz. i dont even like condit and i knew he won would win by the end of round 1. thats like saying brock shouldnt take alistair down because its the pussy move. i also think people dont realize what its like to get inside leg kicked for for 5 rounds. was the same thing for shogun machida 1. shogun one but the judges didnt realize what damage shogun did with his kicks.
I think some people don't know the difference between a Jose Aldo style rear leg leg kick and than front leg opposite stance bullshit I touched you more times so I won thing that Carlos was throwing.
....and he was doing a modified Royce Gracie kick with his rear leg.
They both landed some good stuff to the head and body but nick landed more at a higher percentage of what he threw landing.
Condit said in the press conference that his punches didnt have much power and werent an issue. obviously its not an aldo kick but 68 legs kicks even with some power over 5 rounds will mess you up. and to say nick was unfazed by them just because he kept moving forward doesnt mean anything. cyborg kicked him even harder and nick still moved forward, but he switched stances like he did last night too. if it wasnt an issue nick would have been able to execute better. also some of the most powerful kicks are with the bottom of the foot so not sure what your implying. condit landed the back kick a couple times. also fight metric has it as significant 151 strikes for condit.
really the biggest complaint people should have is that nick could have done more. it is still a sport after all not a back alley brawl.
Nick lost. The end. Doesn't sound like he wants to fight anyway...

Fight metric also calculated 30 power strikes to the head and body for Nick and 26 for Condit a toatal of 113 for Nick and 91 for Condit.
I wish him the best.
He is not a good interview, jesus
Ya, that interview was done a while back before he fought BJ. Nick is an emotional dude but regardless of what he says he still looked like he wanted to fight against BJ and he looked like he wanted to fight lats night which is more than I can say for Condit. haha
I can bet if Nick didnt have to deal with all the politics and BS of MMA just like people hate to deal with stuff at their own jobs it would be a much different story ,and as for condit he is without a doubt great fighter but Im sorry even anderson silva will have some epicly boring fights just to win by points and he definetly got called out for it ,when alot of people know you can do much better than "circle away" which sorry I didnt know was turning completely around and not even face your opponent , than yeah your gonna get called for it but if your a randy couture fighter we all know thats your gameplan and your great at it just like when Chael took down anderson sure he would at times hold him down but thats his game so no one really ragged him.
tldr; condit is a much better fighter than what he showed and pulled a silva to win by points
He might not know what he wants to do with all the extra free time if he isnt training
if you call turning your back and running "fighting" then so be it, but i wont buy a condit headline fight ever, ilegal streams for that dude, and i'll pay to watch Nick any day, as long as someone will "fight" him and not run, but of course, dudes are just streight scared to " fight " nick, but they can win point decisions all day, and water down mma
what ever happend to taking a good old fashion passionate ass whoopin and getting your shoes, coat, and hat tooken lol, no one is willing to take there ass whoopin like a man thease days, and the more money in mma the worse this shit will get
I meant more in the way that Silva in those 2 fights by decision could have easily done much more but pretty much decided to win by points when we all know he could have done more, just as condit could have fought a little more like when he fought hardy KO him while being hit .Condit had the skill to at least be a little more engaging and show off more but he chose to eek out the decision
If you want to fight for honor or whatever, okay, but most fighters are doing it for a career and they want to win, and I want to see guys fighting to their strengths. Jorge Gurgel has this ridiculous idea that he's gonna stand and brawl to be "exciting". I don't respect that attitude of purposefully fighting dumb because you think getting hit proves you're a man.
I personally look up to the guys who takes the least punishment. That to me is what combat sports are all about. Who can take the least damage and outsmart their opponent? Who has the wider skillset and is able to implement their gameplan better? That's the guy who blows my mind and makes me go "Damn, I could never do that."
Guys like Nick who are happy to brawl are fun and I love that they exist, but I'll never fault a more skilled fighter for using better strategy to out think those guys and beat them.
Nick had 25 mins. To adjust to what Condit was doing an didn't. He could of taken Condit to the ground when he realized he had a beat on him. Sorry but there's more to being a complete fighter than punching someone with your fists. I didn't enjoy the fight all that much...it was kinda boring. I don't like Greg Jackson or his boring strategies. In the end if you don't want boring fights then the fighters need to be more well rounded. There are other ways to win a fight besides punching in the face. Adjust an evolve or get out of the way....
condit is a bitch
