Did Guida get f****d by the mma judges?

Whew I was worried I saw a completely different fight than everybody else. Its like Guida was trying for a Condit type game plan but ended up with an ineffective sloppy version of it. Had Guida actually engaged and landed more I would be more than happy to give it to Guida.
I loved it when Gray channeled his inner Diaz by dropping his hands to his waist and eating those 2 shots. Made me lol

I agree that it should've been a far more exciting fight than it was. However, I think there was method to Clay's madness. I figured he'd want to spend the first couple of rounds avoiding the power advantage that Maynard brings to the fight and hope that by rounds 4 and 5 Gray was gassed, leaving openings to capitalise on, there was a lot of talk about Gray's conditioning before the fight. Unfortunately for Clay, Gray's conditioning was tip-top on the night so there was no way for him to effectively capitalise.
Personally I would've called it in favour of Clay, purely based on the number of strikes he connected with as opposed to Gray, the amount of damage he did and the takedowns that he avoided. I suppose the whole "running away" thing could be seen as a lack of aggression which may have counted against him and that guillotine was a massive threat, but he did manage to escape it.
I guess this is why they say don't leave it in the hands of the judges.

Also, what was with Gray holding onto the ponytail? That kinda seemed like a bitch move that nobody called him on.

I loved what Maynard had to say after the fight - "I though Guida came here to fight?"

The crowd went from "Guida Guida Guida!" to "Maynard Maynard Maynard!"
Guida didn't win the fight, in fact, he didn't even show up to the fight.
Dancing around like a monkey for 25 minutes = another bullshit performance by Guida.

He actually landed less strikes, as many websites have said, and he threw many that caught nothing but air.

I think he actually broke the record for worst accuracy in a fight with something like 7%?
He has no aggression, and when he was, he almost got subbed.
I would love to see more refs warn and even take points away from fighters literally turning around and running from their opponent.


Condit had this gameplan, and he actually threw strikes, landed, and flustered Diaz.
Clay just ran, which is of course annoying for his opponent, but it doesn't and shouldn't win a fight.

He could of gotten a decision, but it would of been hair thin.

He fought poorly, and wasn't his exciting action pushing self.
He is a known grinder who works people to death, this was his worst performance ever.

If that's the case, that he landed less strikes than Gray Maynard, then I'll completely retract my statement about him deserving to win. It's difficult when you're watching a fight I guess not to always have a little bias towards one of the fighters.

Clay really didnt come to fight he tried to win but his "game plan" just gave Gray the energy to keep coming foward and finish strong like he did. The last two rounds are the most important rounds. The call was right Gray had octogon control, agression and landed about the same significant strikes. its not just about landing some pussy shot then running away(like dom cruz) fighting is about hurting your opponet, making him weak and break him. This fight could have been really entertaining if Guida came to bang like he has in the past. No doubt in my mind that Gray won.
