So no training for me tonight, which means I got lots of good video footage :)
No Jeff Glover this evening, but we did have an appearance by the Vista Freakshow crew. Nice guys. Good jiu jitsu players, too, but y'all already know that. They have a really exciting and fun to watch style. I was pretty bummed that I wasn't able to train with them.
As far as class content:
Warm ups- Fancy Feet Drills and Boa to Half Plex
Technique- Boa to Half Plex and Electric Chair.
Of course, the Dead Zone drills were the majority of the class, followed by plenty of roll time. It made me physically sick to not be on the mat.
I'll sit out class tomorrow morning again. But Eddie is locating some sort of rugby helmet for me. I'm gonna wear that and do some slow drill time with my man Phil Schwartz during the Dead Zone drills and the free roll time. Y'all keep your fingers crossed.
Gonna do as much cardio as possible in the hotel workout center, too. Gotta keep that conditioning on point and make sure the weight does what it's supposed to.
Damn Brother sorry to hear that, I know you've been busting your ass for this tourney. Tons of positive energy being sent your way. I've sure you'll do awsome at the Worlds!
Sorry to hear about the cut Brandon, Hartford is routing for you
Monoplata!
Sounds like you need alittle tossin!.....keep working, looking forward to hearing about your performance.
Nice class this morning by Jared Carlsten. Working the basic Rubber Guard path, the triangle from Meat Hook, and the Mission Pump to Swim Move to Spider Web. Spider Web finishes were Arm Crush, X-Break, Triangle, and Douche Bag.
Jared is such a nice person. I got the opportunity to meet his wife and daughter while everyone was training. Jared is a family first guy and I really appreciate that. He's got a fight coming up in August, so let's all keep posted on his progress and pull hard for the team!
My man David Lo Pan came by this morning, too. He has a neck injury so he can't train. Stinks for him, but might work out for me. He brought me a rugby cap that he uses to keep his hair out of the way. I'm gonna get a tight silk cap to wear underneath it and see if that will allow me to move around on the mat some. I think I'll be able to at least do some good drilling. Which may work out just fine. If nothing else I'm gonna be able to learn quite a bit today and tomorrow.
