I go with Mt Dew
I used to take protein shakes post workout, until I switched it up a little. Now Instead of taking a protein shake post workout I try to get all the protein I need in with real food. Post workout drink is usually chocolate milk,Sometimes I'll have coconut water. I feel better now doing it like this. And the car wreck feeling, I know exactly what you are talking about lol.
Isagenix for this guy. Never sore. Never tired.
You can spend as much money as you want on this kind of stuff. Sometimes it can get ridiculous. Keep it simple. Take in some simple carbs immediately after workout. Bananas or some other type of fruit work well and then take in protein within the hour. This can be a can of tuna, lean meat, or if convenience is an issue I suggest Optimum Nutrition whey protein. A good cheap pw mix is almond milk, scoop of natural peanut butter, scoop of whey. I've used the stuff for years with as much success as the more expensive pw pre-mixes.
Supplements are exactly that. Supplements. Getting nutrition from real food will always be superior.
The advocare one that brandon mc uses is awesome. I have been on it for about a month and i went from having trouble walking at work the day after a late night of training, to waking up feeling great. I work alot of hours at an auto shop every week up and down on concrete and in funky positions and anybody thats ever been to decatur on a tuesday night knows how hard we train, and it was really taking a toll on my body, but the recovery shake makes it all bearable, plus it tastes really good
I stick with muscle milk powder. Put some ice in a blender, half a banana, spoon of Greek yogurt , non fat milk , vanilla creme muscle milk. It tastes delicious and comes out creamy.
I read an artical in jiu jitsu magazine that said chocolate milk is as good as any for recovery.
