To win IBJJF points tourneys the best thing to do is what Gracie Barra does, focus almost all your mat time on sweeping and passing and very little time on submissions, and absolutely no reaping allowed which means very little leg locks especially heel hooks or toe holds which I'm pretty sure are banned in class. We focus heavily on submissions, including reaping and leglocks. That's why we crush sub only tourneys while most of the "big" associations just ignore them and for good reason, that's just not their style. I don't know how many team NAGA titles we've won, but it's a lot. One thing is undebatable tho, we swarm and smash Gracie Nationals and Gracie Worlds and have won the team title the last 3 years including a 19 gold medal performance 2 months ago.
When it comes to points tourneys we may not dominate but in the Subonly world we rule, now that's an irrefutable fact :-)
