A lot of brown belts won mundials who are less popular, even unknown, who additionally don't have DVD deals.

But you can not deny ryan's popularity is largely due to mass emails and marketing by Loyd Irving.

Before Ryan left Loyd, if you knew who Loyd Irving was, you therefore damn sure knew who Ryan Hall was. And, it's arguable that a large majority of those in the BJJ world knew who Loyd Irving was before Ryan Left.

He's just trying to get a rise out of you man. And he's prolly also reacting to the Ryan Hall haters. Ryan is trying to sell his stuff as different from 10th Planet and I think Kyra Gracie DID blow out her knee using Rubber Guard (maybe improperly). And Ryan does seem to have knee issues himself or at least I've heard him talk about his knees a few times in interviews and videos. So you see where I'm trying to go with this?
