Joe Rogan's Letter to Kellogg's..

I think Joe is exactly right. If Michael Phelps had been shown holding a martini glass nobody would give a shit. He could do an ad breaking a world record in a pool full of Jager and that's totally ok. How many kids died last year from alcohol poisoning? How many died from Marijuana poisoning? I don't pretend that weed is 100% harmless, but of all the things we as a society have decided are OK or not, weed is by far the least dangerous. A dude with a beer bong is WAAAAAY more dangerous than a dude with bong full of Purple Haze.

At the end of the day, it's your decision to have your kids smoke or not, and theirs too. I'm pretty sure that the majority of Under 21 parties involve alcohol. I hardly ever drink now that I smoke pot, I'm way smarter, I'm way more interested in science, learning is something I enjoy doing. I was never like that in school!

Even so, Joe Rogan wasn't talking about giving kids Pot. I'd be much more concerned that my kid is drinking than smoking pot, for sure, but he wasn't talking about that. I think the fact that Phelps does it and is still the greatest swimmer ever tells you a lot about it.

Perhaps if people were more educated on the subject, SUCH AS children, and it was labelled as what it is rather than an illegal drug "that causes harm", there would be less abuse. You can DIE from drinking just a little too much alcohol, an extremely common amount amongst users, and seriously damage your body. With Cannabis, this is not the case.

It's tough enough for kids growing through adolescence as it is, I know, but I don't think the confusion is in showcasing an olympic champion who dabbles in smoking pot is challenging, I think Kellogg's removing him from their brand is more challenging. It begs the question...why?!
