awesome ideas. I'm glad you figured out that pattern to show everyone. I'm sure there must be other patterns that exist for similar submissions. The 90 degree rule was another cool theory that helped my game. Other than that this vid was great help and expanded my understanding of triangles.
Thank you Zaya. When you get that first triangle with this in mind things will click. I've seen it happen. Guys are throwing up triangles on me like no other. That's what I wanted to happen though. Thanks for this! ive been getting triangles lately solely on working rubber guard...which I guess follows your theories.
As long as the opponent pulls his arm out basically voluntarily or by force, you are setup for any easy triangle to finish up.

I wasn't going to post this because I felt I had too much criticism for you already and I didn't want you to take it as I'm trying to put you down but seeing as you're being great about constructive criticism, I have one last thing - the finish. I noticed you put on all of your triangles but didn't finish to get the tap for most of them. I realize that a lot of people do that but I find it very important for 2 reasons. The first being from watching an Anderson Silva video and someone didn't finish the move and he said "if you don't finish always, one time, you might not finish in a fight". The second reason is because in this particular situation, a lot of people can't finish triangles from the back or side mount because it's not strong enough to just pinch your thighs together like from guard. They don't understand the importance of the little moves that make the squeeze a lot stronger. You must first try to get perpendicular to your opponent, then leg curl the leg that goes over the shoulder (get that ankle to touch your butt), then the leg under the armpit needs to push out and then down like a squat, then you finally pinch your thighs together. If that still doesn't choke them out, then you can pull down on their head or get that arm that's trapped across but I'm 150lbs and I never need to pull the arm across or pull on the head. Even if you know how to do this already, I feel it's important to really get people to understand it every time you teach a triangle. If you haven't tried this, try it, it's incredibly strong and tight and you never get tired because you're using stronger muscles by curling and squating instead of just pinching your thighs. This is great! Yes, the finish!! Definitely great criticism indeed.
