This isn't the first time Werdum acted a little trollish after a loss either.

My point is. Why make the fighter that is clearly and statistically winning the fight engage the fighter that is running and disengaging? The ref making the winning fighter engage the losing fighter in an area that is clearly a benefitial to the losing fighter is not fair.
some good ol wrestling skills would have changed outcome.
Barnett> Werdum or Overeem hahaha:cool:
Statistically Overeem knocked Werdum down several times. Whether they were real knockdowns or Werdum pretending to be hurt dosen't matter. In the judges eyes they were knockdowns. That plus the Octagon control sways most judges.
Tell me you're not serious with your last sentence? Are you saying the referee should have ordered Overeem to go into Werdum's guard??? If Werdum can't get him down and keep him down then he has no choice but to get up in an MMA fight.
I just think Jiu Jitsu is still a valid martial art and should be treated with the same respect strickers get. If the fighters can't agree on where the fight should take place, then why favor a K1 champ that is losing a fight. Ask Eddie if fighters should learn just enough Jiu Jitsu to bring the fights back into the striking game. I really can't believe on a Jiu Jitsu website I am the only one that thinks Jiu Jitsu deserves respect.
Werdom had octagon control almost the whole fight. The ref gave octagon control to Alistair by making Werdom stand up in front of a K1 champ.
MMA is supposed to be the Sport of real fighting. Note the words 'Supposed to be'
In a real fight if you can't get your opponent to the ground or keep him there then you have no choice but to stand up right? If he dosen't want to jump into someone's guard why would he in a real fight?
No-one is saying Jiu-jitsu dosen't deserve respect. MMA is what it is so there no use in complaining. Unless you were somehow expecting the referee to put Overeem in Werdum's guard?? It's up to the Jiu-jitsu guys to become skilled enough to take people like Allistair to the ground.
I'm not sure what you're definition of Octagon control is but replays showed numerous times Overeem connecting with Werdum and him falling to the ground and not the other way round. Those count as knockdowns whether Werdum was actually hurt or not. The figure is in double digits how many times Werdum fell to the ground while Overeem was standing in the middle of the ring. If the referee did not make Werdum stand up then what do you think would have happened? Fabricio lying on his back waiting for the clock to run out? It's up to the fighter to control where the fight goes. Werdum couldn't do that.
I understand how everyone thinks Alistair won. I am not a Werdum fan. I just respect his Art and thought he won the fight. I would not be opposed to them taking turns between standing up and starting in the guard when the fighters can't agree, but that would be boring and probably the end of MMA. Alistair won I will get over it, but think they made the wrong call.
