The importance of the Fishnet!!!

Hey, Josh

Don't fear the purple belt. He's just a guy. Yes he has more experience and more skill, but it's not unusual for a white belt to be able to tap a purple belt. Sometimes white belts have a built in fear of higher belts and it causes them to play too conservative. Just go for it. Once you tap a purple belt, you'll find that you are tapping others ones (not as often as they are tapping you, of course).

Oh, and please don't put two guns up when you do tap one. That would be kinda disrespectful.

He usually starts by pulling guard or half guard but usually gets a sweep and end up on top. At least with me he does. And when he gets on top, it's hell trying to get out from under him. He usually ends up on my chest or across my diaphragm and I end up using more energy to breathe than anything else.

Agreed. Purple Belts are endowed with limbs, hips, a neck, and a spine...and they hurt and break just like yours. Cast off the illusion that color makes the difference and be perfect.

Ya know man I play alot on bottom because that's where I am weakest... I like to work my escapes and defense alot cuz it prolongs me getting tapped against quality grapplers... My top game is pretty good due to the fact that I weigh 220lbs and I know how to distribute my weight evenly... But my ultimate goal is to be comfortable in any position so I work defense alot...
