You can't promote yourself to blue belt so you can't be sandbagging....
I think this depends entirely on the school and the people training there. After years of flying solo i got to stop by a jits school on a business trip. I told them I'd never had a class but had been repping for years after class at my Shaolin school. I rolled with a bunch of blues and after the class the black bet in charge came over and gave me a few pointers about small bad habits I'd never been corrected on, and everyone was super friendly and supportive. I tapped out or timed out everyone I rolled with and never got an ounce of bad attitude from anyone. The second day I got the privelage of getting my ass handed to me by the purple belt who trained there, and then the black belt used my face to clean the mats. They both told me how they set me up, and how to avoid it next time. The kicker was that it was a primarily gi school and I walked in wearing a bunch of 10p stuff. No egos anywhere to be found.
What I hate the most is going to a gi school and having to wear my brown belt, although only training in gi for about 19 times. But a belt is a belt, I tell myself. If I'm brown in jiu jitsu, it doesn't matter whether it's gi or nogi, I should still rep the brown belt. And then I think to myself, "the more I get thrown to the wolves, the sooner I'll become a wolf.. And that's that. Against the mendes brothers, I got caught with a wrist lock and GUI got the straight leglock, only after I let him have the heel back.
Moral of the story: train with the best, get mashed by the best, and you will be a wolf before you know it.
WTF IZ JUICE!? No seriously tho what is this "biz" you are all so fond of?
If you didn't tell them up front that you know dim mak and kiai wave flow disruption and have confirmed unarmed kills of over 1,000 people in combat *just using your pinky*, then yea you're a sandbagging mother@#$#@ Nelson, but I still <3 ya.

I don't know. I just thought it sounded cool to say.Quote:

Brandon sandbagged me in Decatur. He said his name was Demarcus and then he crushed me. The entire time he kept whispering Daddy would you like some sausages, daddy would you like some sausage. He the imanari rolled and screamed you can't choke me, I have my cheeeeese helmet!
Alot of schools don't allow drop in unless you register with them first and check out. I can see the merit in that as you don't want to have your fighters hurt by some spaz or someone out with something to prove. I too have no belt, am 35 and have kids to feed, but I also have been training for 5+ years, in the basement right now. I love training with new peeps, but when you are training, in my opinion there is no such thing as sandbagging. Its not a competition.....
