But yet he is against gay marriage, gay adoption, and abortion...
what part of he would leave it up to the states to decide those topics aren't you grasping?
I already know what your response is so i'll just post the 10th amendment as my counter.
"The powers not delegated to the United States (Government) by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
Wat dont you understand about equal rights? I would love to hear your argument if you or a loved one was gay
if they had a problem with the laws of the state, i would encourage them to move to another state where gay marriage was legal.
again that's the beauty of choice in a free society.
let me give you a different example.
I grew up in CT, when I got older, I got into guns and the 2nd amendment. In CT assault weapons (semi auto rifles designed to look like military rifles) were illegal. So I moved to Rhode Island, where they were not illegal and bought a few.
freedom
ya but it all depends on if the law is for actual freedom of being a human being or owning a type of gun.... doesnt even compare
Ron wouldn't vote one way or the other on the issue because the constitution does not give anyone the authority to. you should take your beef up with the people who have made gay marriage and adoption illegal not someone who doesn't believe he has the constitutional authority to even vote on such an issue.
ron pauls foreign policy sucks and he has very little experiance.... Considering that the US is one of the worlds largest and most powerful nations, I do not think he is fully qualified....
he wants to reestablish the gold standard, if you have ever read an economics book you will understand the problem with this...
opposes the UN and blames them for the war in Iraq, which is completely false....
His domestic policy is alright though... he wants to remove the federal reserve and remove income tax, and let the states make their own descisions.... to bad he is a creationist, which would make one bring in to question his logic....
anyone who belives that the world is only 8,000 years old, let alone that the entire UNIVERSE is that old and that humans are the center of attention in it has some sort of issue, or flaw in reasoning... I would not want that person in charge of the most powerful military in the world....
His foreign policy is exactly what we need. He has a plethora of experience in congress. He is more than fully qualified. He's an economical genius and a strict constitutionalist above all. Anything that isnt in the constitution he would like to leave up to the states. Meaning, if its not in there, as long as its legal in your state, he wouldnt oppose it. He might not agree with it, but he's not going to stifle anyone's freedom and right to choose. And not just as it applies to one or two matters. As it applies to everything, gay marriage, adoption, gun laws, abortion, drug laws, religion, or anything else that one might consider a personall freedom. Fact: The US is bankrupt and is going to default on its credit. That is the single most dangerous issue facing our economy/nation as a whole at the moment. He's perfect to deal with it. Or as perfect as its going to get. Creationist or not, he's pretty much our best hope at the moment. In my humble opinion.
Because instead of policing the world, wasting our resources, and wasting the lives of our military personel, they'd be right here at home. Wasting far less money. Most of the shit we're into with other countries was started by us being in unwanted territory in the first place, us being in the middle east is only making more people pissy with the US. Our national security is not served by spreading our forces accross the globe. All great nations of the past have fallen when spread too thin. Not to mention we cannot afford the wars, world wide military bases, and all the costs, both initial and from fallout, or any of it really. Our nation is bankrupt and can hardly figure out what to do with our own economy. Why should we be nation building/terrorist hunting/any of it, when our national security would be better off with our troops at home. Not to mention the billions to be saved.
The gist of this thread: Ron Paul FTW
what qualified obama to be the president?
Ron Paul has been a congressman for almost 30 years, he has more experience than who he would be replacing.
you offer no legitimate rebuttal to his desire to reestablish the gold standard. Re instituting the gold standard would ensure the dollar could never again lose its value. the federal reserve (which is a made up of a group of private mega banks and is no more federal than the federal express) print the money, use it at full value and then lend it back to us the taxpayers with interest. its a fraudulent system.
and give up the nonsense about religion. regardless of what he believes, he understands that the constitution does not give anyone the authority to shove their own beliefs down someone ells throats.
this is another hot button issue with me, i did college reports on this topic, so ill do my best to condense it down while adding substance.
the USA has had a nasty habit of foreign intervention that has caused blowback (unintended consequences) for their actions abroad. Ron Paul believes we should end all foreign aid to all other nations because we cant afford our own debts and we do other countries a disservice by pumping money into their economies. rather than let them and their markets solve their own problems we keep things that should fail afloat with our aid and eventually that aid will end probably because of default.
anyway on to foreign intervention.
in the early 1950s the CIA launched an covert operation codenamed TPAJAX that was designed to oust the democratically elected mohammad mosaddeq and "preserved the Shah's power and protected Western control of a hugely lucrative oil infrastructure."
long story short, the shah was a brutal dictator who regularly violated human rights and the iranians have not forgotten how he got into power.
this is the meddling that we need to end. the wars in iraq and afghanistan are no different. do you even remember what the excuse was to enter iraq? and if bin laden is dead, then why are troops still in afghanistan?
FYI I am a Marine with 2 combat deployments to Afghanistan and received a Purple Heart because of an IED strike.
Here is a little reading you can do from the CIA's own website about their foreign meddling.

Ron Paul's views are as one of our founders put it
"Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations — entangling alliances with none." ~ Thomas Jefferson.
I kind of hope he wins now
Just to see him destroy this country
So wen fe fall captive to china i can blame it all on a republican
+10
You sir are a hero and a fucking genius...
I hope more people listen to you, a Ron Paul presidency would set this country up for success for a long time. I mean think about it, If Ron serves two terms and the country thrives, Ron will essentially (hopefully) be allowed to basically handpick the next president. That president would continue on Ron Paul's awesome legacy. holy shit i hope he wins...
i appreciate the kind words but to be honest, i think Ron would be assassinated before or shortly after he took office.
the last guy who talked about abolishing the CIA and the Federal Reserve took a bullet to the dome piece. :(

my brother is gay. And Ron Paul's beliefs are irrelevant because he supports states making decisions on that subject. I support him 100 percent. Ron Paul is for giving people the freedom of choice on whether they want gay marriage in their state or not. And that's how it should be. He is not forcing his beliefs down anyone throat, he is giving people the option to choose and I support that 100%.
Your argument is also irrelevant because he doesn't plan on taking away anyones rights, that would contradict his policies of giving states the right to choose.
Again you think its fair for someone that doesnt have the luxury to just get up and move to another state to do so?
Its fucking stupid if ure gonna legalize it in one state do it to all of em
Dont let some dumbass conservative senator decide your fate
the constitution does not give the federal government the power to make that decision.
and Ron Paul is a congressman his son Rand is a senator
he doesn't decide anyone fate. He lets the states decide. That's what so beautiful about it. Unless you are locked up in prison there shouldn't be anything stopping you from moving to another state. You don't need to fill out a visa application to go to another state.
What does it matter if he is conservative? You think because someone is conservative they aren't qualified? Newsflash: and this is coming from a registered liberal. Politics isn't baseball. You don't pick a team, hop on the bandwagon and just do and say whatever they do and say. You find a candidate who you think can make the most educated decisions for the nation and you vote for him.
You know Im sure you know deep down inside you know thats not true about nothing stopping you from moving. If there wasnt anything stopping you from moving than why doesnt everybody move to a better state with better jobs and better houses and better neighborhoods , I mean if it was so easy why doesnt everybody move to HQ and train with eddie bravo everyday and smoke legal weed and go to the beach get with fine girls.
I personally think if you make a certain core amount federal laws that states cannot touch which make sense like no killing unless to protect innocent to start off with than maybe we can let states decide the rest, then gradually add more laws to the core which hopefully make sense like gay marriage, and separation of church and state, freedom of speech, freedom of religion etc. and make it illegal for states to change those laws but still continue to decide the rest upon each state than maybe just maybe that could work but it probably wouldn't humans suck ass
if the state doesnt agree with the federal laws that were being shoved down its throat (no matter how good intentioned the were) the state would reserve the right to secede and become its own republic...
the federal government cant just make a state do whatever it wants, that is not freedom
Please read number X and then reassess your statement. If you don't understand after you read it let me know and i will try to help you understand.

Im talking about starting over making a new set of laws sure keep the good amendments take out unneeded ones like
AMENDMENT XIX
Passed by Congress June 4, 1919. Ratified August 18, 1920.
The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.
Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
its gonna be impossible at least in our lifetime for things to change who knows how long its gonna be Republican vs Democrat IMO there both sucking the same cock trying to get that same money shot and no matter what I or anybody does we cant change it as long as power rules everything oil tycoons and warlords will run everything just like they have just look up at our history we specialize in invasion, terrorizing, and manipulation of information. Thats why probably more than 50% of americans dont know why were in IRAQ and Afghanistan and still believe were fighting terrorists its extremely sad how little info most people know and choose to be ignorant.Luckily online forum threads allow us to debate with hopefully other smart people
You just called the amendment that created equal voting right to women unneeded. should we get rid of the First Amendment too?
The beauty of Ron Paul is that he isn't part of the bought congress. He isn't in anyone's pocket. He sucks no proverbial cock, let alone waits for the $ shot.
You say things won't change for a while but i ask you why? Is it because we settle for the same politicians who aren't a little ballsy. We settle for the politicians who are bought and paid for by corporations. I for one will not roll over, resign, and say "Well things will never change". Especially when i believe we have someone right in from of us who i think can enact change.
Our country is so far off the tracks now that going back to the constitution would be just like starting over again.
Dude every repub and democrat is out for their sponsors before their people
ron paul's sponsors are his constituents and the constitution.
he's been in congress for over 20 years and his net worth isnt tens of millions of dollars like you would expect someone of his tenure to have.
he is bought and payed for by no mega corporations
Its awesome Cody that your for the people and Jason to if people like you can run for president and ACTUALLY have a chance to win than that to me would prove we live in a truly free country with democracy but Im sure you guys know that would never happen no matter how hard you guys tried so if its only possible for the average but intellectually smart and honest guys like you to win than in my eyes that's real change but as long as only the select rich and few keep winning presidency I personally see no reason to vote for anybody anymore, I respect people who vote for independents or other party candidates but the majority of people who vote choose sides cause most never see anybody but a DEM or REP winning.Maybe if there wasn't parties and just people running for president based on individual ideas maybe honest hardworking people can win , as for Ron Paul I agree it doesn't matter what he believes since he wants to let states decide their respective laws but the problem i see with that is for example
I live in South FL if you've ever been its unlike any place in the US cept for California, now we've been trying to pass many laws like gambling , legalizing marijuana, better immigration laws etc. but are constantly overturned because the super white conservative North FL refuse to pass any laws there's even been efforts to make FL into two states just so N FL can stop being a bunch of stuck up pricks I mean if you just go towards orlando its a different world already. Thats my only problem with states deciding laws when something like FL happens all the time even though more people live in South FL all the rich powerful and WHITE people live in North FL so they always have the last word
angel, even when ron loses, he wins. listen to the issues mainline political candidates have to pay lip service to simply to remain relevant,
end the wars
balance the budget
abolishing fed reserve
ending fiat currency
Ron Paul has been preaching this stuff for 2 decades and it caught on in his last election. We know elections are rigged and diebold machines would prevent Ron from winning or even if Ron did win, we know he would be assassinated or suicided by the CIA or some other black ops group that he would abolish within his first few months of being the president. the uber rich would simply not allow a Ron Paul presidency. What is important is what happens after said event takes place, what will we do, flock to our iphones and drive thru's or take the country back
Your right Jason I didn't mean to give the impression to just give up and deal with things as they are Id rather do what you said and fight back but god damn are those corporations all powerful ,but again your right nothing will happen if we don't try . I personally like Ron Paul but im sure you can already tell by my previous statements I'm not the most educated person in law and politics but than again who is really so its hard for people like us to just accept politics word and hope they actually practice what they preach since its just a mess of people trying to make us believe them just so they can voted in to get more profit . I bet if we had a truth telling serum and made sure anyone who even thinks about running for office or position take it Im sure we'd hear some of the most heinous things on this planet from some of them lol.
