Melee has special ranked, blue, purple, brown, IBJJF approved rash guards for $35 ($45 after the worlds). They will be ready this week, worse case scenario Melee will have boxes of them at Legends on Friday and Saturday at the event :)
Is anyone els running into the situation where no one is in there weight class? Do we know how this works for competition and points for the team? I am currently at 135 and under and have been training to maintain being under that weight. I havent been able to get a clear answer from IBJJF. The only thing they have told me is I need to decide by 5pm pacific time on if I will be doing. I need to make a decision by tomorrow if i will be invading someone else's weight class at blue belt senior 1. I would be moving up from Pluma (122-135.5) to Pena (136-149). Not sure what everyone else is going to be weighing in at in that class but I have to be under 149 (currently walking around at 136) so i would be giving up close to 15lbs. (or more if some else is going thru a weight drop in order to be more competitive, it could be more). So i am turning here for info and advice. If someone has ran across this before pleas let me know.
No team points are given if you're the only one in the class. I think 3 is the minimum.Quote:

Each academy can only have two athletes in the same division (of age/weight/belt). If your academy has problems regarding the number of athletes in each division, please send an e-mail to IBJJF ibjjf@ibjjf.com.

Not sure if they wouldlet me move into masters due to age (36-40), looks like i may be moving into the next weight class up with Jhon and Robert and giving up the weight advantage.
we've got quite a few classes where we have more than 3 competitiors lined up.

that's why you need to bring an i.d., so they can verify your age.
same as any tourny u can move up...my friend jay olaveria is 38 and he got 2nd at no gi pan ams adult diviosion behide edwin nahim...this year...
