Hey, Kevin. So I tired the omaplata roll, and it was slick! I also tried that half guard roll, but I kept having the guy roll right on top of me in half guard instead of getting his back. Any suggestions? Is there a twist in the air to that one?

Sorry that was supposed to be "tried the omaplata roll"
Cool..Im glad you like it. Its real easy to set up too (I think) as you start getting it down, try doing it from a standing position when somebody tries to suck in a single leg or if someone has an ankle and you are standing up..
The roll I did in this video was from quarter guard top. From mount, the guy on the bottom reaps your ankle and clamps down on it with a figure 4 (say your left ankle for example)...you have to make sure he doesnt get any higher then the ankle. Turn toward your right (in this example) and roll over your left shoulder..its money.
Hitting from half guard top is a bit tricker (not in this video)...but I use it all the time...(you end up in truck not on the back when you do it from half guard). Marcelo has a version of it...
If he has half guard on your right leg you gotta pass your entire body to your left and roll under your self (on your inside or right shoulder in this example) and yes, you have to kind of shift mid roll so you can get your back on the mat as opposed to landing on top of him (this also puts your leg in the right position). Its pretty slick bro...I wish I could just show you. Trying to explain it with left, right, in a post is confusing to you im sure.
I have a really cool kimura/shoulder lock I roll into as well (from turtle top)...if you like the two in the video, youd love this one..it gets so tight so quick and if the guy on the bottom rolls with you, you can trap his head and ride your hips up (finish from a second position) like having an insurance policy :)
Oh no, I gotcha loud and clear. I'm a teacher in the middle of Iowa, so I've been learning 10th Planet off the internet, Eddie's books, and the occasional seminar in Omaha (when I can afford it). I'm used to being coached through words, and you're doing great. You're saying instead of rolling him straight over top of me, I need to shift and angle the roll to his legs to get into truck. Is that kind of what what your getting at? If so, walk me through this kimura of yours. :-)
Ok...you are turtle top on his left side with an over under grip....right knee in his stomach track stance w your left leg...(turtle top on the side, your facing his head). So you take your outside leg (left) and reap inside of his left ARM and force it around your inside leg (right leg) from the front. Once its locked in...roll over your inside shoulder (right) and be sure you leg curl to keep his ARM. Once you roll you have to fish for his ankle with your inside hand (right) to stop him from rolling forward...you legs can be figure four but either way its your legs that finish the kimura....if he beats you and roll, let him and use your right ARM to slide in front of his face to block him from sitting up....then shift you feet to the outside, rotate up on your knees and post you rt ARM (still across his face hand planted on the mat by his rt ear) and drive your hips forward to tap.
Sorry about the spelling, on my evo touch pad phone and I suck w this thing :)
Let me know how it goes....
Okay, I was a little confused on that one, but I looked up leg kimura on youtube, and this came up:

Let me know if this is close.
Sort of...his set up leaves a lot of holes and he goes rt to the insurance, by passes the kimura where u stop your opponents roll...but that's the basic idea
kevin, you really are a sick man. i can't wait until i can get back in the gym with you. everyone should be voting for kevin, his shit is soooo sick, it really is.
