How's it going against White Belts so far? Not trying to be overly sarcastic. But It's important to compete your way through the ranks. Competing against white belts is way closer to what you might encounter in a real world situation.

"Belts only cover two inches of your ass. Unless jj machado gave you that belt. Then your pretty much covered head to toe" -fixed cliche quote..
You can substitute Jj for any legit black belt. It really is more than fabric when awarded via proper lineage.
I want to know how he's going to introduce new belts into the system? As new people start BJJ, won't the value of all the belts inflate until only the very top guys have belts at all?
Although you could totally go and dojo-storm rival gyms and take all their belts... so yeah, I'm in. :P
Its kinda funny with this thread... I hit my first truck to calf crank on my instructor (she's a black belt in Judo) not even 4 hours ago, she said she had never seen that before (thanks 10th planet) but I realize that I have only been in to JJ for 6 months and understand that I am not the same skill as she is. I have the body weight and strength advantage, I am 5'7 165lbs and she is maybe 5'5 120lbs. So the switching belt thing is a little extreme if not on a level playing field.
Oh I know, I just felt I deserved the back lash because I was being whiny lol Just saw two guys I beat last month get promoted and they were some of the better guys in my division, so now I won't have them to go to war against. Promotions are this weekend and I know for a fact that I won't/shouldn't get promoted because I haven't been training very long and I know at least a few guys that deserve it more than I do, so it was eating me up inside. A lot of reflection lately, I don't know how much longer I can keep training like I do.
Saw that pic of you, manny and gokor. Do you ever not train with legends? lol but yeah man, hope all is good, you gotta visit sometime soon.
