For moons, I'll nominate my own moon Montreal. I believe that we have by far the stiffest competition to contend with. Tristar Gym is only a 10 minute drive away. And there are monster Jiu Jitsu teams here in Montreal. I gotta work damn hard to remain relevant. I'll also nominate BETHLEHEM. Zach and Holland are busting their balls and leading their troops to battle every step of the way. I believe they are doing everything right and I see the results.
WOTY: Freak Brothers. Richie and Geo are amazing to watch, and nice dudes. I couldn't possibly nominate one without the other.
MOTY:
10P Yuma. So much talent in such a small town. Yuma has lettuce and jiu jitsu ON LOCK.
10P Vista. Murderers' Row.
I nominate Montreal as well. And Barncat is easily WOTY.
Jessamyn Duke will win it multiple times in the future.
There are a ton of great contenders for Nibiru warrior of the year, but I'd lean towards Kelvin and Boogeyman.
For moons, I'd have to go with Vista and Gulf Shores.
Barncat & Jessamyn
Omaha & Richmond
Derek's tournaments are spearheading the push towards sub-only style tournaments in the Midwest and this is very important.
Warrior: John Botello and Derek Stewart. John is a no brainer for me. His attitude and willingness to compete is what motivates me to keep going. And I think what Derek is doing with the tournament series is huge for us and the sub only movement.
Moon: Phoenix and Vista.
I'm a little bias when it comes to Omaha, but Amber hit the note on this one. As a moon, Omaha is on point...not just from an instructor level or competitor level, but overall support of the system. Derek is running the MSC all over the midwest and continues to push it further out. Derek couldn't do this without the support of his mooninites; they drive all over the midwest with him to ensure it's success. And anyone that's visited Omaha can attest to the sense of family.
As for Warrior, I'm gonna have to say Barncat...dude is killin it out there and always supporting other 10P events no matter where they are!
