If I am going to pay money to view a fight, I want to watch the BEST. Women are not as athletic, and that is just reality. When I order a PPV I want to see a spectacle of violence that I can't see at local events. I want to see elite level fighters. Women are just not able to do what men are in a fight. Don't throw the "they could kick your ass" card. No one is paying to watch me fight.Quote:

I would agree with that assessment of Bellator being number 2 now. I would be inclined to say that Dream should be number 2 in terms of the amount of talented fighters under the Dream banner and the spectacle that a Dream show is but with FEG and Dream/K1's future being unknown one must think that Bellator is number 2 now. That's a good thing because i love everything about Bellator and i really hope that they aren't going to be the next name added to Dana's gravestone of MMA organizations he has killed. They put on great shows and have a lot of talented fighters. I think the same thing about Dream, there is something very exciting about watching a Dream event (especially Dynamite) i don't know if it has something to do with the spectacle they put on, the nostalgia for Pride FC that is associated with it, or the fighters and fights themselves but Dream shows are always very entertaining to me. I hope that they make it through there current financial troubles although it appears that they may not. One thing im interested in figuring out is what will become of fighters that i assume are primarily under contract with Dream (i have no idea about how Dream/SF contracts work so forgive me) but are also apparently under contract with Strikeforce/Showtime and now Zuffa and are fighting on the upcoming April 9th Strikeforce card like Shinya Aoki and Tatsuya Kawajiri among others in the future I'm sure. With Dreams future unknown and these fighters under contract with Zuffa to fight in SF will they continue to fight under the SF/UFC/Zuffa banner or will this be a one time thing and these fighters will be put on the shelf until Dream either puts new fights together or folds.

That's good to hear about Bjorn Rebney i just hope that Bellator remains profitable enough to stay afloat, regardless of if Rebney would sell the company or not. I would hate to see them fold or be sold either way, its too bad though that guys like Hector Lombard, Eddie Alvarez, Ben Askren, Cole Konrad and so on and so forth wont get the chance to earn the recognition they deserve just because one organization has a monopoly (for better or worse...there's many pros and cons to that argument) on most of the highly ranked fighters. There are so many fighters in Bellator that have an incredible amount of talent that will unfortunately remain pretty much unknown to all but the most hardcore of MMA fans. Even there champions that i named above are and probably will continue to be known to casual fans only by the odd mention of their names by people that are 'in the know' so to speak. At minimum i hope that casual fans come to recognize the talents that their champions possess and hopefully thier rankings reflect that as well, but IMO the real bummer out of this whole situation is that casual fans and even some more astute MMA followers more than likely will never see and or appreciate the talents and abilities of some of the less well known fighters in Bellator: Toby Imada (save another submission of the year award that is), Alexander Shlemenko, Patricky and Patricio "Pitbull" Friere......just to name a few.
I hope that Dana uses the revenue to increase fighters salaries too but i have a feeling that it will continue to be "business as usual"...
Jason...I wouldn't even worry about anything this douche has to say. Maybe his mom didn't breast feed him long enough or something cus he has been bashing women since the day he came on this site. Rumor has it they bought Strikeforce for $40 million. Strategically, Scott Coker is a great asset to help the UFC enter Asian markets like South Korea and Japan. He's got a lot of good experience in dealing with those cultures from a business perspective.
