With that said, my Grandfather came to this Country during WW2 with Germany & he did it Legally, and became a citizen Legally. So why can't these people do the same?

Maybe this Angers me because I have lost a great paying job to illegal mesicans that were willing to do the same work for half the pay. They didn't even speak the native language here and how does some one work with people like that where communication plays a key role in the business. Quit forcing the spanish language to be taught in schools and start forcing English to be learned by immigrants. Quit putting spanish labels on everything & instead put "Learn English" on them.

A lot of good stuff has been said to respond to this but I will say this,
If your job was taken by "illegal mesicans" and you don't think theres work out there. Type this in Google "migrant farm worker shortage". Check your state, I am sure they are not at capacity. I have worked in the fields, in construction at a pig farm etc etc. I was born in the US and my parents were born in the US, but my grandparents were not. and one thing they passed on to us is there is always work in the fields or outdoors in general. that why they come, there is always work, and if you need it, go find a farm and ask to work.

You didn't enter those countries illegally Im sure you used a passport. Ask Eddie how easy it is to get into Canada.

You guys need to ease up a little bit the guy may be short sighted but he has not said anything that blatantly proves he is racist. Im not going to debate back and forth about it but you guys act like it is a black and white subject and it definitely is not. I believe people should be given the opportunity to enter this country and make a better life for themselves but there are some serious issues at hand.

Before reading these replies, I was a staunch supporter of securing our borders. Jason's posts have sort of thrown me for a loop. I still don't believe we should disregard all immigration laws. It is obvious the system isn't working, people are coming in illegally still, and business owners are hiring them to save money. Perhaps streamlining the process of immigration and allowing them to come here legally, become contributing tax paying citizens rather than criminals on the run the second they cross the border, and having the naturalization process long and drawn out full of hoops to jump through.

Actually, I did have my passport but didn't use it for Canada nor Mexico. The others were during military operations. I'm sure you know about those jaunts lol. I agree that there are a host of other issues at hand though. I don't see it as black and white but human decency has to prevail brother. The legalities are far over my head :-).

Well there are definitely two sides to the argument and I agree with arguments from both sides (some of them) but I know where I stand with it and when I see a person write things like "mesican" he is probably racist. If he was around his buddies that know him really really well and they understand the context of the usage than thats one thing, but he used it to people that don't know his character. I say, he is most likely racist to more of a degree than is normal.

lmao I could be wrong but given the proximity of the s and x on the keyboard I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt. I didn't know "mesican' was a racial slur if im wrong I certainly wouldn't condone it.

definitely two sides.. the right side and the misinformed herds manipulated by this wedge issue (mostly racist/intolerant). lol sorry thats harsh, but anti-immigration propaganda infuriates me when you know the struggles these people go through.. and also how the very people perpetuating "securing our borders" are the same people profiting off the fact its not secure via worker exploitation.

Highly unlikely considering it was his only spelling mistake, coincidence? Probably not since it fits right in with what he's preaching.

I did not say spelling mistake. I indicated a typo, not the same thing. Its highly unlikely that he pushed the wrong button when they're right next to each other? No. I have never even heard of "mesican" as a racial slur. What negative thing is it suppose to imply to make it an insult?

Im not defending the guys political views. I just don't think its fair to label him a racist because of them. In fact it comes off like a weak ass attempt to pull the racism card to somehow nullify his opinion.
