I was afraid you were gonna say it never went back to normal. Oh well i've had to adjust my game on that side, and obviously im not the first person whos had to work around this type of injury.

Don't fret man, mines compounded by a bunch of problems; chronic degeneration of the joint and it chronically dislocates while I’m sleeping, rolling, or sitting down for too long, along with the snapping hip syndrome (when the psoas tendon snaps across the femur head). Stay positive brotha were not all built the same, you may very well make a 100% recovery. I still stretch every day as If one day it will do what I want it, I don't give up hope I just keep moving forward.
Thanks man i appreciate the kind words and i do make sure I stay positive and stretch everyday, injuries are bound to happen in this sport. And today i looked up the Pigeon pose, never seen it before but it looks like a keeper, im gonna start adding that to my stretching routine. :)
In the beginning of this video Pat pulls his own foot in from half-guard to go to butterfly guard. Video was shot shortly after Mastering the Rubber guard came out. I was wondering for a little while now if you had any influence on this being taught by them. At the time I thought it was a little out of the ordinary and wondered if they were influenced by the Rubber Guard book. At the time there was not as many mma guy doing 10th Planet stuff. It was such an information overload when the book first came out for people trying to learn everything else for mma.
Its the 1st technique shown

I know he knew of 10th Planet, never had anything negative to say about it. Pat had Legit skills, his butter fly guard was always impressive. Pat is a Black Belt under Oswaldo Alves. There was also another Black Belt there teaching the Gi classes, a brazilian I forgot his name Rodrigo something. all though I had started injecting 10th Planet into my game at the time, I don't think there was any transfer of info of 10thPJJ, Pat was more interested in my No-Gi Sambo and Judo game.
Damn Coach!!! That's Heart.
Chris that was a Great post and very helpful, I'm at the crossroads of my career as well and any advice would be appreciated. We are in the process of trying to be an official affiliate but have been put on hold until we to quote Eddie "wreck House" at NAGA. My dear friend and training partner P.J. Sisco and I would like to compete in Oklahoma next month to prove ourselves. P.J. - still in his early twenties is no doubt a beast and will do great. I'm a couple decades older and while still physically and mentally strong, I feel like humpty dumpty with all the pains and Injuries, every morning I creak out of bed and snap myself back together to go train hard at the Gym at 5 a.m., Things that use to heal in days now linger for weeks. this combined with the fact that my girlfriend of 19 years (don't want to rush into marriage!) insists that I will be single if i compete again. After a championship MMA match I clinically died and was resesitated from a punctured lung collapsing, They called everyone in for last rites and etc. It happened from not blocking a knee to my floating rib thirty-six seconds into the first round. I fought till I collapsed in the third round. It was my first loss ever and I had won multiple titles before that in wrestling, boxing, and MMA. So I'm now kind of stuck between competing to finish our affiliation and being single along with adding porcelin hip replacement to my "Things to do list" or being just another MMA school after studying the system like a bible, drilling the techniques relentlessly and knowing we can teach the system very well.
I know you didn't ask me, but, does your girl know the difference between MMA and grappling? I don't think you'll die in NAGA. Sorry to hear about your situation though.
Hey David , I appreciate the info. She does know the difference, she's been by my side at all my events. She worked with me for hours letting me drill techniques on her to pass Eddie's certification test and she is my biggest fan. I've just had a few things happen that were close calls. In 2009 while skydiving 3 of the 5 panels on my chute failed to open and I hit the ground hard enough to almost lose my toes, right foot and leg up to the knee but it eventually healed after over a year. last year a group of old Idiot's were pushing a young girl around in a nightclub and after I knocked the first one out another one stabbed me in my side with a large hunting knife twice just barely missing my kidney. The holes were the size of a golf ball. so after all that and the last rites thing from the MMA match she's just worried that the next time they won't be able to put me back together........
